It is a beautiful 'Adults Only' establishment with a very authentic interior and a unique character, yet it provides all the modern comforts you could wish for. We agree with the previous review. This is one of the most charming boutique resorts we’ve stayed in but if you’re a non-smoker and you get trapped with a smoker around you on the sun lounges there’s no escape. It ruined a couple of days for us as passive cigarette smoke was blowing all over us due to some people chain-smoking on the loungers in front of us. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when you’re not used to it, it feels really suffocating. I guess people come to Thailand and take advantage of the cheap price of cigarettes and go a bit crazy with smoking non-stop without any consideration for people around them. I really hope that Buri Rasa take this feedback on board and do something about it. This is the resort I would love to return to again and again.

We have just returned from a week at Buri Rasa Village. The Pros: Small boutique complex on Chaweng beach in a great location for sightseeing, entertainment and shopping. Breakfast each day was enjoyable with a wide variety, lunch and dinner, while not fine dining, were well presented and enjoyable. Our room on the first floor was comfortable, with a balcony, and the bathroom was unique with the option of a traditional Thai bath. The staff are friendly and helpful and always smiling. The Cons: If you’re a non smoker this is not the place for you. Smoking is very much encouraged. The hotel has 4 rows of sun beds on the beach and around the pool, and with the constant onshore breeze, you will spend all day passive smoking as you try to sunbathe and chill. There is no escape at the bar or the dining deck either, smokers and ashtrays everywhere. Even a swim in the pool will fill your lungs with smoke at times. Ideally a designated smoking area would help but I doubt that management and staff would enforce it.
