Phum Baitang in Krong Siem Reap, Cambodia

Designed to give the feel of an authentic Khmer village in rural surroundings – it does just that. Enormous care has been taken in its construction, and the interiors have same theme of rural simplicity. A little pot of bright green rice shoots decorate the tables, and shutters are made with woven banana leaves. Within the resort lie two restaurants, two bars, a boutique, a 50 meter infinity pool and a spa.

Enjoy the comfort of your own villa while admiring the lush jungle from your terrace. Explore the ancient temple of Angkor Wat during the day and take a cigar in lounge in the lazy afternoon. You can also spend a day in the tranquility of the spa or practice meditation in the yoga pavilion. In the evening, the Bay Phsar’s restaurant will serve you local flavors with sublime Khmer noodle dishes in a street food set up.

This is the best hotel we have stayed in for a long time. It is certainly the best hotel we have stayed in on this trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. The attention to detail is amazing. We stayed in two terrace villas with our two grown up children and although there are higher grade villas with their own pools, we did not feel in the least bit cheated as the main hotel pool is so huge, no-one gets in your space and there is loads of quiet corners, sun beds etc. The staff in the two restaurants are very friendly, courteous and helpful. Service is of the highest standard and the breakfast is excellent, as are the lunches and dinners with good, varied menus and an excellent choice of wines/cocktails to choose from. The two bars are also excellent with lovely staff. The surroundings are so peaceful and beautiful for a hotel which is so close to a big city. Special things to mention are the amazing packed breakfast the hotel prepared for us when we went out on a 5.30am tour and the tuk tuk driver who took us on a tour of the evening markets. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again should I return to Cambodia.

At first I was hesitant to stay here as it is 15 minutes from Siem Reap. But when I so how busy the town was and how peaceful and beautiful the hotel was I was so glad that we choose this place. It it done in the traditional Cambodian architecture with rice fields and oxen in the fields. The service and the included breakfast were amazing. Also you will most likely not be driving on your own but being picked up by a guide to tour the temples so the fact that it is out of town is not an issue. A tuk tuk from Siem Reap was only around six dollars. Best hotel in Siem Reap!

We loved staying at Phum baitang during our visit to Angor Wat. It is 10 15 minutes from the airport, temples and town. The town is not that special and it was so nice to come back and relax at the end of the day at this special place. We loved overlooking the rice patties and the amenities were perfect. The hut rooms were great, staff understated but helpful and food amazing. IT was a perfect way to visit the area and highly recommend it

There are two great resorts for travelers in Siem Reap: the Beige and Phum Baitang. Phum baitang - the green village - is perfect for an ultimative cambodian experience. Like a real cambodian village between paddy fields you can find yourself in lush vegetation, jumping into you private pool or sitting on your huge terrace. Full private feeling during your stay. The kind staff and lots of amenities makes your holiday perfect: + great communication already in advance of our stay + kind staff, very familiar + complementary pick-up and drop + villas with lots of space inside and outside, what a pool/garden and bathtub + good breakfast + late check-out + and so on. Thank you so much for a pleasant stay M+G

Perfect is a word often over used. Not in the case of Phum Baitang. A warm & friendly welcome which was both relaxed & professional greeted us, & a quick check in took place in our villa. We had a pool villa & also a terrace villa for the kids. The hotel is set within a large walled site, with villas dotted picturesquely amongst the rice fields. A fabulous pool, two fabulous restaurants, wonderful breakfast at the beginning of the day & wonderful cocktails at the end. A very charming, characterful, authentically Cambodian, boutique hotel with a relaxed but high end vibe. I felt immediately relaxed and at home. The rooms were big & comfortable with everything in the right place. Cleaning & turn down service as invisible & immaculate as it should be, even my phone charging lead was expertly coiled to the perfect length & secured on the bedside table. Fresh ice & lime waiting every day, too many other lovely individual touches to mention. The style of the rooms & the resort is a rustic feel, but absolutely everything in the hotel feels stylish and of excellent quality. Spa treatments also pretty good. Most importantly, the service was consistently fabulous & yet friendly & relaxed. The staff were always smiling, seemed to get on well with each other & were only ever concerned that they collectively looked after our every request. Siem Reap, the temples & Lake Tonle Sap just a short drive away. If you prefer something a cut above a formulaic 5 star hotel brand, then there is nowhere else to stay in Siem Reap; Phum Baitang is perfect in every way.
