Reviews for Hotel Hodeo

Very friednly service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed October 10, 2006

The welcome here was great - very friendly. The view over the water is quite something and the dinner we had was first rate, although expensive. The room was also impeccable - thoughtfully designed and very clean. The hotel changed its name in mid 2006 from Villa St Elme, so you may find reviews for that hotel. I asked if the hotel had been sold, hence the change in name. I was told no, it's just a change in style. In retrospect, I would have liked to stay in a bigger town so that there were places to see on foot. The hotel is right off a busy road so a going for a walk is difficult.

it's really two seperate hotels

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed September 28, 2006

If you don't have a car, forget this hotel. We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere.Transport was impossible .Very expensive to catch a taxi. They gave us a room across a very busy road from the the main hotel, beach, pool(small),restaurant(extremely expensive). It was such a drag having to cross the road to use the facitlities. No pedestrian crosssing. It was actually dangerous as the cars speed along and it's on a corner......talk about look both ways! It is actually two seperate hotels.Don't be fooled by the charming photos as we were. If you still choose to stay at this hotel.Insist on a room on the beach side. I think it will cost a lot more than our room which was way over priced in my opinion. The hotel is lovely with it's 1930's look. The restuarant is beautiful.Although it costs an arm and leg to eat in and you will still be hungry after a meal, small portions.

Villa St. Elme is now the Hotel Hodeo and a wonderful small hotel.

First off, my wife and I prefer small holtels. This one is strategically located on the water less than 10 miles from ST. Tropez. We stayed in a Junior suite located across the road from the main buildingl. We had a sea view and plenty of space in a beautifully appointed room. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at noon so we decided to have lunch at the Terrace restaurant overlooking the pool and the sea. Lunch was 35 Euros pirix fixe. Ihad Salmon in a saffron sauce and Patti had loup. They were both wonderful. My salmon seemed to get better with every bite and the sauce was delicate and wonderfully flavorful without overpowering the fish. The hotel is into health so there was no cream in either sauce. Dinner at the Hotel in the well appointed main diningroom was equally as satisfying. They had a nice wine list with fair and reasonable prices. The pool is seawater and a little small but since most guests did not utilize it when we were there, we mostly had it all to ourselves. Hotel Hodeo has a sauna, steam room amd a terrific masseuse. She is well worth the price which was reasonable. The Hotel staff is attentive and helpful without being intrusive. We did a day trip into St. tropez and their suggestion that we not drive but take the ferry from St. Maxime was a time saver. My wife and I would not hesitate to recommend or stay at the hotel hodeo again the next time we visit the area.

A little bit tied

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed July 29, 2005

We stayed at Villa Saint Elme in spring. You feel the low season. All things have been some tied. In the Restaurant they cannot serve us a plain salad. But all in all - a comfortable stay.

Bof bof

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed December 30, 2015
