Banyan Tree Phuket

Banyan Tree Phuket is an attractive resort with beautiful, tastefully decorated villas set in lush tropical surroundings. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always polite. That said, the overall experience did not quite live up to the expectations associated with this brand. The lobby feels somewhat dated and would benefit from refurbishment. The beach was probably our biggest disappointment. Although the hotel provides sun loungers and mattresses, the beach itself is public and lies outside the resort grounds. It lacks the exclusivity and atmosphere one might expect from a luxury beachfront resort. We were also surprised that no activities were suggested or offered during our stay. The resort felt rather quiet, with relatively little to do on site. The food was satisfactory but unremarkable. While perfectly acceptable, it did not reflect the quality or creativity one would normally expect from a five-star property. During our stay, the resort was particularly popular with large families, many travelling with young children. Guests seeking a quieter or more adult-oriented atmosphere may wish to take this into consideration. Finally, the location is quite isolated. Although this may appeal to guests looking for complete seclusion, those wishing to explore Phuket should be aware that both Patong and Phuket Old Town are approximately 40 minutes away by car, making spontaneous outings less convenient. Overall, Banyan Tree Phuket is a pleasant resort with attractive accommodation and attentive staff, but in our opinion it falls short of delivering the exceptional luxury experience that its reputation and pricing suggest.

I had an amazing stay at Banyan Tree Phuket. The villas are beautiful, the resort is peaceful, and every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The service throughout the resort was exceptional. A special thank you to Charin from the spa. He gave me the best massage I’ve had in a long time. His technique, professionalism, and attention to detail were outstanding, and I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. If you’re visiting the resort, I highly recommend booking a massage with him. Overall, an unforgettable experience, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

Two things I value: privacy and peace. I stayed at Banyan Tree Phuket recently and during my stay, the team looked after me with genuine kindness and discretion. They noticed I wasn’t feeling well and surprised me with beautiful flowers, a get-well card, a thoughtful gift of wooden chopsticks and, on my birthday, a delicious chocolate cake. I called Guest Services just to thank them because it was that good. What impressed me most was that nothing felt performative. The team managed to make me feel genuinely cared for while still respecting my privacy and the peaceful atmosphere I was looking for. Every interaction was warm, professional and sincere. The villa itself was the perfect place to recharge, and this turned into exactly the kind of holiday I love—quiet, peaceful and restorative. I’ll remember the kindness of the staff long after I’ve forgotten the rain or my upset stomach. Thank you to everyone who made my birthday special.
