Phuket Cooking Class

Our experience with Eye and Chef Ton was really fabulous! They were helpful and fun but let us actually cook our own food. The facility is lovely and adults and kids all very much enjoyed.

Fantastic family stay with superb villas, service and experiences

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We stayed at Banyan Tree Phuket for 9 nights (21–30 December) as a family of four in a Two-Bedroom Signature Villa with private pool. Villa 803 was perfectly located and extremely spacious, with a large private pool and plenty of shade — ideal for families. Housekeeping was excellent with daily cleaning and evening turndown, and the beds were very comfortable. The resort is beautiful, peaceful and immaculately maintained, and during Christmas it was tastefully decorated, creating a festive yet relaxed atmosphere. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay — warm, professional and genuinely caring. Special thanks to Niwat and Kwang for their exceptional service. Dining highlights included Saffron (excellent Thai), Hojo (Japanese) and our favourite, the Banyan Tree Café overlooking the golf course. We weren’t fans of Tre Italian. The Christmas Eve buffet at the Watercourt was very impressive, and Christmas Day brunch at Rava Beach Club was lively and fun with great food. Trips organised by Banyan Tree were superb. The private speedboat trip to Phi Phi, Bamboo Island and Maya Bay was a highlight. Visiting Maya Bay, where The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed, was fascinating — especially learning how its popularity surged after the movie and how it is now carefully regulated to protect the environment. We also visited Monkey Island, and the snorkelling at Bamboo Island was outstanding with crystal-clear water and abundant marine life. Our guide White and the boat crew were excellent. The Phuket Elephant Sanctuary was another standout experience. Meeting Marigold, a blind elephant who gently responded to human touch, was incredibly moving. The golf course was pleasant (played once). We also ate outside the resort at Etna, which was excellent, and Benjarong at the Dusit Thani Hotel, easily reached via the hotel shuttle bus. Benjarong was fine — food was decent — but it lacked atmosphere and didn’t quite live up to expectations based on its TripAdvisor reviews. A couple of practical points: mosquitoes are prevalent, particularly in the evenings, so bring strong repellent. Also, the resort does not have direct access to a private beach, which is a shame. One final mention of outstanding service: on our departure day our flight wasn’t until 11:50pm, with airport transfer at 7:50pm, despite a 12 noon checkout. The hotel very kindly provided us with another villa from 12–4pm, which was hugely appreciated and made the long departure day far more comfortable. Overall, Banyan Tree Phuket delivered a luxurious yet relaxed family holiday with exceptional service and memorable experiences. We would happily return and highly recommend it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sub sub par

This is definitely NOT a five star or even four star hotel. It’s sub par. Toilets don’t work. Place is worn and unkept to the point of feeling dirty. I could go on…

The very best of Thailand, and such incredible service. We will be back!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We had absolutely the very best trip to Banyan Tree in Phuket. The service is simply unbeatable. The food, the number of restaurants (fab Japanese, Italian), the proximity to golf, the number of activities for our kids. The Kickboxing teacher Sunny was fab, the Tennis coach Paul was five stars. The manager Jinny and also Eve were SO helpful. They really went above and beyond, and truly made our trip super special. We are considering Banyan Tree for our trip to Mexico later this year, and back again in December 2026 because nowhere we have stayed has matched this genuinely caring service. The proximity to Bang Tao beach, Smigo’s laid back vibe and their own beach club Rava were also so fab. The hotel staff were all extremely kind and considerate with our children. The pool villas were a treat and really made our holiday standout. Also the spa and massages. We could go on and on….and hence we will be back
