Reviews for Royal Westmoreland

Lovely Apartment in the Royal section.

Stayed in a one bedroom apartment in the Royal villas area. Lovely apartment, and setting. Booked another available one in same block for the next year. The pool area great, although would benefit from some toilets and a few more beds in the busy period. The views from the balcony were great. The security staff were very friendly, not so much the staff at the main pool, but stayed around our own pool for the most part. A car highly recommended, although there is a shuttle bus which we did not use. There is access to the Mullins beach bar and beds, but due to the undercurrents at the time, we only got to use the beach beds once. The restaurant was nice, and food good, although a highly unprofessional argument occurred right by our table with the kitchen and bar staff, we found it quite entertaining, but not really want you want when spending top dollar. Until next year.

A good base to discover Barbados.

A good base to discover Barbados. We had a one bedroom apartment which was very spacious and very well equipped. A large terrace with loungers and dining table. Washing machine and tumble dryer, cooker, hob, microwave and dishwasher. The only negative is that the pool bar / cafe is no longer open. The pool is immaculately kept by Mark. A good sized lap pool a few hundred feet away. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the main clubhouse and Sanctuary pool which does have a cafe and the food and drinks available are limited but good quality.

A week far away

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed March 26, 2022

We stayed with another couple at one of the villas available for rent. This is a beautiful property - very large, gated community on the west side of the island. We had a tremendous view of the golf course and Caribbean from our porch. The other amenities were fine with a good size pool, tennis courts and plenty of room to walk. The only disappointment was that the property has no beachfront. There is a free shuttle bus to a private beach location and an open-air beach restaurant the property owns. The beach is very small, virtually no space at high tide and not much at low tide. Chairs and umbrellas are free but everyone was so packed into the small beach space, we could hardly breathe. There are many good reasons to go to Royal Westmoreland but the beach is not one of them. With the large and magnificent homes on this property, you'd think they could sink some money into finding a new beach location or rebuilding the current beach.

Spent the month of January in one of the golf cottages. Had a great time, the facilities were excellent and the golf course was great. The views are also nice. Customer service was lacking from management side

Island Villas - FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOR TAKE IT FROM A LOCAL

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed August 24, 2020

I am a Barbadian native who lives in Los Angeles in Barbados during Covid. I wanted a getaway for 4 days. I went through Island Villas Barbados and although it started out nicely fraudulent behavior started to take place. Upon arrival, I didn’t do a check-in walk through with anyone and I noticed knobs were missing from dressers, yellow-stained towels. I’m a local so I said Covid-19 has hit tourist-driven countries the worst I’m not going to complain about it. I still enjoyed my time. When I left two days later. The same knobs I saw off were blamed on me (I had picture evidence) It was said that I damaged them although they were off when I arrived. They took my full 500 deposit without a professional conversation. They also charged me for washable tumeric and makeup stains on three towels. I have took responsibility that’s fine. They sent me a bill for seven towels although they told me three towels. Just so they can keep my 500 in full. Inflated the costs to get more money. Avoid ISLAND VILLAS any chance you get . Trust me. You will regret it.
