Domaine des Andéols in Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt, France

Escape to a place that is quintessentially French, yet exhibits a decidedly modern style, at Domaine des Andéols. Located in Lubéron, less than an hour's drive from Avignon, this country estate breathes classic Provence lifestyle at its very best, while bringing guests an artistic and contemporary environment. Guest houses are dotted around the property, charming abodes with a mix of stunning décor. A brilliant white cocoon best describes Maison Blanche with its peaceful blank color palate, and saturated hues of purple and blue make Maison des Terrassess a sensory pleasure. Multiple bedrooms, fireplaces, and private gardens are just some of the individual touches throughout. And rooms are equipped with wireless internet access and air conditioning, ensuring the utmost in comfort. Start your stay by simply exploring the property itself - on foot, by bicycle, or even on horseback - and take in the picturesque landscape in every direction. Domaine des Andéols grows orchards of cherries, apricots, melons and grapes, which you can enjoy as fresh juices with breakfast, and also hosts more than 50 varieties of tomato plants.

The main swimming pool is ideal for a dip or as a sunny venue for an al fresco lunch, and the hotel also has a tennis court you can use at your leisure. Should you wish to further unwind, schedule a deep tissue massage with essential oils customized to your needs, and opt for an in-room treatment for an intimate approach. Perhaps the greatest sensory experience at Domaine des Andéols, though, is that of taste. Dining is a voyage through the flavors of Provence, reinvented and brought to you through inspired seasonal menus. For a special lunch or dinner, head downhill from the main house to the majestic plane tree, where a canopy of leaves cover a lit patio of tables. The region itself beckons to be discovered, and the hotel's staff can help to arrange day trips or suggest sites to visit. Brimming with character and charm on every level, Domaine des Andéols is an ideal home for your trip to Provence.

A boutique hotel built like a tiny village, it has superb contemporary designs and fun art. The swimming pool and its surrounding area is one of the most beautifully designed pool areas anywhere - amazing for sunsets. The outdoor dining area is superb. The whole feel is like a chic house party. The villas are farmhouses simply furnsihed with contemporary art, but the living room lacks air conditioning. Although the two bedroom villas have ensuite bathrooms, they share a lavatory in the hallway, which is not ideal.

The boutique hotel is absolutely beautiful, nicely finished and the setting is perfect. The staff are just not up to the standard of the hotel and the price you pay! Upon arrival we waited quite some time to be served even though several people were behind the counter , we were taken to our house with zero explanation of the place, or what things you can do in the area. We discovered our house did t have air conditioning on the ground floor ( we were not told this) and it was 40C outside! And paying 800 euros a night! Toujours is the name of the house to avoid, and it's extremely dark, we were given a fan which was broken but worked ! The next day we moved to one of the Nature suites which have been built new with a full size floor to ceiling window and it was a great experience being at one with nature. Best ones are the suites 1 to 3 as they have open views and these are 500 euros per night but just for 2 people. Dining experience in La Platene is lovely with nice food and ok service to start with then you just get ignored ... but the outside setting is one to enjoy. The other Restaurent in the main body of the hotel Maison des Saveurs is really not worth it, the service is simply bad, food so so, the waiters just forget to bring you what you ask for and they are not at all attentive , really not up to the standard of what the hotel is trying portray. To warrant the prices they charge this place definitely has the right setting but a very WRONG service level, and it really needs to address it. Mixed feelings about the stay ... a real Pity !

Very beautiful property. You take loads of amazing photos. We had a dinner and breakfast at the hotel and it was good. Only improvement would be service that lacked some proper training. The location is also very good for day trips in the area.

We loved our room (more on that later), and the beautiful, expansive grounds (including a lavender field or two) at Domaine Des Andeols. While centrally located to many of the Luberon hill towns, it has a quiet, secluded feel. There are two pools, two restaurants (a more casual one under a giant plane tree with a lovely view of the grounds and a fancier restaurant we did not partake of). There are a variety of unique rooms, including nine nature suites (though the website says three), which are their newest - very modern - rooms, individual and private, each secluded behind its own gate and with its own sun loungers, and a small garden with table and chairs. Numbers one and two have unobstructed views of the lavender field - we were in three which was perhaps the most private of them, secluded by a hedge in front of the sun terrace (which we liked because the entire front of each nature suite is a floor to ceiling glass window). A couple of caveats: (1) three of our four mornings we were out at 8am and not back till 2 or 3pm in the afternoon and yet our room had not been cleaned in spite of us having pushed the "makeup room" button by the door when we left; (2) they seem to have an issue with small birds flying into the giant front window of these rooms and we had two die on our terrace while there which was disturbing - hopefully they will figure this out (!) and (3) we could live without the auto-sensor lights in the bathroom area of the nature suites, as the unit is one big open room including the bathroom area (except for the WC), and they go on automatically (not fun in the middle of the night). A/C is individually controlled and there's an in-room safe, a fridge, and lots of closet space. Service was friendly and eager to please but sometimes seemed to lack some basic information (the nearest small grocery store for example which we discovered five minutes away in the nearby village). All in all we loved our stay at Domaine Des Andeols, enjoyed the seclusion of our modern and luxurious nature suite, appreciated the beautifully landscaped grounds as well as the resort's central location.

We came here for our mini moon after getting married in Orgon. Driving up to the venue was amazing and in its own private paradise. We were greeted by very friendly staff and were kindly left champagne in our room. We stayed in suite nature 1 which was overlooking the endless views it was beautiful we also saw the private villa with pool which looked amazing. The room had everything we needed. The pool was beautiful. I loved the attention to detail for everything from the artwork in the bedrooms, L'occitaine toiletries to the mugs and plates for breakfast. The food in the restaurant was good but didn't quite live up to other restaurants around Provence. Overall we had an amazing and relaxing time and will definitely visit again
