My friend and I went for the spa break package. This includes two spa treatments, a four course meal and an over night stay. The hotel and grounds itself is stunning but I'm sad to say I left feeling disappointment. Firstly the spa is a little grubby, my facial was nothing to write home about. It felt rushed and not at all relaxing. The full light was on throughout so it felt uncomfortable ! The therapist however was very friendly and polite. After the spa treatment we went to check in but our rooms weren't ready despite me ringing the previous day and being assured it would be ready for 3.00. When we got to our rooms it as stunning and the bed was amazingly comfortable ! We had dinner at 7.30 the starter and main were both delicious. The service I have to say was not great. We had to wait a half hour for anyone to come over and take our plates and offer us the dessert menu. Noone topped up our drinks or asked us how was our meal ? We felt very over looked and unimportant. Eventually I caught the attention of a waiter and we ordered dessert. My chocolate fondant was delicious but my friend had the cheesecake which was awful and she couldn't eat it nor could I. I told the waiter I found it awful. He just looked at me said "awful" with a shocked expression and walked off in a hurry. No offer of an alternative no offering tea/coffee ect . At this stage we both felt very fed up and over looked so we left. I told the Very helpful and polite male receptionist. He offered us a complimentary drink and got us seats in the bar. After he left the barman tried to charge us! We embarrassingly had to explain the situation! Upon check out we did not have to pay for drinks x2 glasses of wine each which was a nice touch. We were were excited about being pampered and experiencing the k club 5 star experience it is unfortunate we never did. I can see the potential the k club has to offer but it didn't happen for us !

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a business event... the setting and the house are stunning and even though the old world style of decor is not normally my cup of perfectly fits the overall ambiance of the was very spacious with a hugh the rainfall shower and the bed was probably one of the best i have slept in.........ate in the restaurant on one night and even though the service felt slow the meal was excellent.......only issues i had was that the wifi was shocking and the place was like an oven ......very very warm even to the point of been a little uncomfortable....the staff were excellent so overall a really nice stay in a beautiful setting

Unfortunately, we only got to spend one night at the K Club Hotel. It was at the end of our Ireland trip and our last night in Ireland. The hotel is gorgeous inside and outside. The staff is at your beck and call. Our son and his family were able to take advantage of the horseback riding adventure the next AM before they boarded their airplane back to USA. They LOVED IT! I would definitely LOVE to go back and spend more time there.

10-Day Ireland Trip to Killarney and Kildare. Planned golf and relaxation with another couple for a weekend at the K-Club May 5-8, 2017 in Co. Kildare. Arrived on a Friday after long train trip from Killarney. Tired and hungry upon arrival we were overwhelmed by the helpfulness of the staff. They guided us to the lounge telling us our bags will be placed in our room. We were immediately met by the most charming bartendter by the name of John Ryan. John gave us advice on several drinks and we ordered some lunch. What most impressed us was the presentation of the drinks when they were served. From a silver platter and each drink was made to perfection. Thus began our weekend affair with Mr. John Ryan. He not only served in the afternoon lounge but in the evening at the "Crop Room" which is the bar for drinks before and after dinner. We made it a point to see John each evening before and after dinner. The last evening we were graced with one final round of drinks before retiring and leaving the next day. Our experience with John Ryan reflects our experience with the entire staff of the K-Club in Straffon Co. Kildare. It is more of a country home than a hotel. Everyone we came in contact with from housekeeping to waitstaff were courteous and most helpful. In addition to the Hotel restaurant there are two more great places to eat, the Palmer Clubhouse and the Smurfit Clubhouse. Providing lots of opportunities to walk around the stunning grounds. I strongly recommend visiting when you have the opportunity! You will not be disappointed! JLG from PA, USA
