Dear TripAdvisor and fellow travellers I generally don't write many reviews but I feel compelled to do so in this instance. My partner and I just very recently stayed in the K Club for a Winter Warmer package offered in January for €270. Ok, the grounds are very well manicured and the building is impressive and has a sense of presence to it. On entering the hotel, there was a gentleman there to take our luggage but the car had to parked very far away from the main door on a horrible wet day. No offer was made to bring me back from the car park even though it was quiet at that time and got fairly wet. The rooms themselves were reasonably nice albeit a little dated. You could swing from the cobwebs however and there was no fridge. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities excellent to be fair and a turn down service provided. At the restaurant we were seated in the larger room and given the menu. This was probably the biggest disappointment and that was the crazily limited menu that was given to us. At no point did it explain on the deal that the meal was restricted. We were placed between two other couples that must've been on a normal package as the waiters served them hand over foot and had a vastly better selection. We were basically offered veg soup and stuffed chicken. We even asked for carrots as my partner suffers from Crohn's disease and cannot take green veg to which we were told there was none - on leaving the dinner unnoticed several plates with carrots! The dessert was even more pathetic with only rice pudding, cheese and a horrible little lemon tart thing. My granny makes much nicer meals to be honest, especially the rice pudding. Staff was mixed with some quite abrupt and others friendly. There was no atmosphere in the hotel so we ended up going to the Straffan Inn which incidentally is also owned by the K club. The next morning was a mixed bag. It took 30 full minutes to get a seat even though the queue wasn't immense. The breakfast in general was nothing out of the ordinary and extremely expensive (€29) if you came in off the street. It was just buffet and most of the pork meats were swimming in grease. What annoyed me the most however was the fact that we ordered tea and toast twice and we were fully finished by the time they arrived. We also ordered fried eggs and they landed 5 minutes after we finished. Service was beyond terrible that morning. How in God's name is that a breakfast deserving of €29!!? Even if you want a simple omelette you need to pay a supplement of €5! Complete madness. When we were leaving, I went again to get the car about 400 yards from the hotel. Absolutely lashing worse than ever. In fairness it was quite busy but I waited 5 minutes for a lift to the car park and none offered. I had to walk yet again in the teaming rain and got soaked. When I came back my partner mentioned that some other couples were offered tea or coffee and that she was simply ignored even though she was evidently staying there with a handful of luggage. In 2017, we have stayed in the Lyrath Kilkenny, McDonald's Kinsale, Farnham Estate Cavan, Druid's Glen Wicklow and the K Club wouldn't come close to the service and standard of those and at a fraction of the price. Very disappointed that €270 gets you a second rate service. Sorry, but cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

A wonderful destress location. From the moment you arrive the staff are attentive but not intrusive. Old world charm meets modern luxury. An ideal bolthole, only 40 minutes from Dublin, perfect for a romantic weekend. Rooms and dining options are excellent.

The surroundings are really lovely, rooms and bed luxurious. Staff very welcoming. Here for a company event so working on a limited menu but the food was very ordinary. The choices were traditional which is fine and not unusual for a large gathering. However, the flavours were not memorable. Smoked salmon starter was fine, not massively tasty, main course of hake was slightly dry rescued by a delicious tomato and olive mash. Apple crumble...large and bland. Disappointing.

I am a female non-golfer so I was bored here and had a feeling of being isolated, with very little to do or enjoy. I thought the bedroom was average, so to order room service would NOT have been a pleasure. The entrance to this hotel is off a busy highway, which is another thing I didn't like that much about it. I am sure if I was an avid golfer I'd be more inclined to like this place and give it a higher rating.

We were a large family group having a birthday celebration The hotel is wonderful - fabulously comfortable with lots of space to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful views, the comfortable salons and the marvellous art works The guest rooms are very comfortable We had dinner in a private room as we were such a large group. This worked perfectly for us. The menu was great and the food beautifully presented and delicious. We were looked after very well Breakfast was great. We loved the pool area -spa treatments, hair salon, the pool and the gym were used and enjoyed. We enjoyed a mid morning coffee there too The rate we paid was a winter warmer rate and was quite simply amazing value. We felt like we had won the lotto Thanks to all the staff who were welcoming and professional in equal measure
