The K Club is very proud that they hosted the Ryder Cup, and rightfully so. The hotel has a somewhat Old World feel, but one that is getting a little tired. The furnishings give the feel of nineteenth century, and the ambience exudes that period. The people are great. You can tell that the training is good, as the employees bend over backwards to say yes to you. There was a wedding the night we were there so we couldn't eat in the restaurant but they made space in the tea room for us to eat. Well done! The breakfast was good, offering a big choice of items. The eggs are cooked to order, and the lattes were nice.

We stayed here for 3 nights. What a beautiful location set in 550 acres. We had high expectations and they were fully met. The rooms were of a high quality. The ambiance in the hotel was superb from the main dining room where you had breakfast to the tea rooms through to a very cosy bar. Both golf courses were very good particularly the Palmer Ryder Cup. The Legends club house was an enjoyable place for drinks and a relaxed evening meal. Very deserving of its 5 stars

We booked a 4 - night stay and play package which included 4 nights hotel stay with breakfasts, 2 rounds of 18 holes golf at each of their courses & 2 set dinners at The River Room. The room is beautiful but a bit stuffy as there was no air conditioning- the hotel really need to air the room often especially before new guests check in. As September is not really cold and they had given very thick winter blankets, I had to request for thin bedsheets to be used as blankets. The hotel really should consider providing fans and summer blankets for the rooms which don't have air conditioning. The windows can be opened but they are really heavy and rain can come in. Golfing is superb and the best. The food is good - will review the meals we had in separate reviews. Breakfast is very good. Parking is available but the spaces for visitors can get full easily during weekends. The worst part of our stay is the billing! For one of the nights we ate at The River Room, they billed us the whole meal despite us telling them we were on a Stay & Pay package. Thereafter we were told just to sign the bill and the computer will remove the items not chargeable. I refused to do it and asked for a new bill only on additional items we ordered. We were going to check out early the next morning and decided to ask for our entire stay bill the night before given the error made over our dinner. We found that despite their records of our Stay & Pay package, they still charged us for the 18 holes golf & a taxi charge of Euro90 from Dublin which we never took. Good thing I still had the email confirmations on our Stay & Play package and the associated price. It took more than 1/2 an hour to sort everything out. Good thing we asked to see the final bill the night before checkout or else we would have been delayed in our early morning checkout as we had a plane to catch. In summary, the resort is luxurious, staff helpful and courteous and golfing is great. The rooms are pretty but need more ventilation. Our experience with the accounting and billing is awful and affected our holiday mood. So, do check the billing carefully and have your agreed package description and pricing with you.

We recently stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon and we were left extremely disappointed by the rooms and service. The rooms are stuffy and outdated and the hotel was virtually empty of other guests for the entirety of our stay. Staff were slow to process even the simplest of requests. The spa and pool are fine, but not as glam and luxurious as the photos on their website. They must be old images as not much looks this way anymore. Not sure it's worth a stay unless you happen to be in Straffan and in desperate need of an overpriced night.

The K Club has a unique atmosphere. It is in a beautiful setting, real luxury but with a relaxed and friendly style. The staff are very professional but genuinely friendly from the spa to the Club House. I didn’t realise that the river that flows through the estate is actually the river Liffey. There are lovely walks along the river, part of it through woodland and a couple of old foot bridges that connect the two golf courses. It is peaceful and relaxing with lots to do. The food and golf speak from themselves so there is little I can add apart from saying I was not disappointed in anyway. It’s been a few years since I last stayed at the K Club and I can say it is better than ever.
