Called in for a bite to eat as we were in the area and were passing by and as we heard so much about the place we could not resist but call in. The review is reflective of the food and not the overall premises. Ate in the bar for lunch, it was where we were directed when we enquired about a restaurant for lunch. Ordered K-Club sandwich and one of the children ordered from the kid's menu, a chicken breast. We waited about 45 minutes to receive our food and noticed that a number of people that arrived after us got served before us, (don't think that is the way it should be)! The food itself was incredibly disappointing. How can you go wrong with a sandwich you might ask at a 5 * resort..........well apparently you can and in fabulous fashion. The chicken was dry and practically non-existent in between the white bread (no alternative provided even though I can see from menu now, that there are a number of alternatives) and it was tasteless. My son's chicken breast came out with lots of pepper on the top, I was advised that the chef's season the food, (they must have forgotten to season my sandwich), I would not have eaten the chicken breast let alone expect a young child to eat it. No excuse. Not 5 * by my standards. Poor quality food and expensive to boot.

The K Club was a fantastic hotel with 2 great and challenging golf courses. As an avid golfer and fisherman, The K Club offered a very good, all round experience. I want to highlight how good the fishing was, catching lots of large Rainbow trout in the 3-7pound range as well as a similar size brown trout. The Ghillie was very knowledgeable and provided us with all we needed to have an enjoyable and successful fishing trip. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

From arrival to departure this hotel performs as advertised and beyond. A special mention for Patrick, at the front of house, who made our stay memorable. We look forward to our return later in the month........highly recommended.

Had a meeting with Architect and client and had coffee and scones The staff were fine but not at the level we would have expected The coffee and teas arrived (and were nice) but the scones didn't arrive till we were finished the coffee Scones were not nice Price for what we got was far too high. We had a direct comparison as we had had the same in the Merrion Hotel the previous week which was astonishing quality, service and value. When we met the Client the following week they said they were surprised at service and quality.

We recently stayed in the k club as we had to attend a funeral in Staffan. Our positive experience started by a very professional and extremely friendly Kate who booked us in via phone. Kate couldn't do enough for us. In fact when we arrived Kate went out of her way to introduce herself. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.
