Luxury indeed with impeccable service.
This hotel won the title of "Best Small Luxury Hotel" in 2024 and I can see why. Its main qualities are the quality of service it offers and the beautiful setting just outside Ubud itself. The accommodation is indeed luxurious and it is worth choosing a Deluxe Villa with a small but more than adequate extremely private infinity pool which faces the forest. Indeed, privacy and location are at the heart of what is offered here and this is offered to all guests whether they are regular guests of high-quality luxury hotels or whether their stay is a special treat (as it was for us as we celebrated our Golden Wedding which occurred a couple of weeks earlier). The service was not at all stuffy but was very attentive and personal and much appreciated, as was the complimentary upgrade. It is, of course, an expensive luxury to stay in a hotel like this but that is justified by the quality it affords the guest. Naturally the quality of breakfast and other meals in the Cascade Restaurant was of a high standard and whilst we didn't take the opportunity to dine at the Michelin mentioned "Aperitif" fine dining restaurant we were able to sample a range of absolutely superb canapes and complimentary cocktails at a couple of invitational events which were a generous and unexpected touch. The culinary skill on show at the Pinstripe Bar on one such occasion was exceptional. A range of activities was provided including a fascinating evening walk led by a hotel member of staff but this hotel is above all an opportunity to experience classical service standards and luxurious accommodation and amenities. Management is attentive and personal and my wife and I were pleased that our special celebration holiday included four days at this beautiful hotel.

Out of this world
Honestly this place is unlike any other we have stayed at. The small family vibe friendly and courteous staff along with amazing restaurants and spa facilities made this a dream 3 days celebrating our 25th anniversary. Nik in Cascades and Ayuni on reception and the shop were exceptional. Thanks to Patrick and his team for a fabulous stay .

Totally indulgent, peaceful and relaxing.
We just spent 3 wonderfully indulgent nights at Viceroy Bali in Ubud. The resort sits in a wonderfully peaceful setting overlooking the rainforest. The sounds of nature and seeing birds flying from the treetops, and watching monkeys jumping through the tress while eating breakfast was a treat. It is also a totally delightful location to enjoy evening cocktails And we did Days were spent enjoying the beautiful gardens and relaxing by the pool. Can beat poolside cocktails. The villas are spacious, and well appointed and equipped with all the amenities you would expect from a luxury resort. My recommendation is to upgrade to a Deluxe Terrace Villa if you can for an extra touch of wow. But for me, the true highlight of Viceroy is its people. The staff are exceptional. Their genuine friendliness, warmth and polished professionalism create an atmosphere that is both welcoming and wonderfully relaxed. Nothing feels too much trouble, and the service is delivered with a natural grace that makes you feel genuinely looked after. The dining is another standout. The restaurants offer a wide variety of food options and our selections were impressive. Aperitif restaurant is an absolute must. Its degustation menu is a memorable culinary journey and easily one of the highlights of the stay. The gym is also a pleasant surprise. For a hotel fitness centre, it is exceptionally well equipped, with a good selection of modern machines — all clean, well maintained and in excellent working order. And then there is the spa. A three-hour treatment somehow wasn’t long enough. In a resort designed around relaxation and indulgence, it would be very easy to spend an entire day here being pampered. Three nights was wonderful. I suspect four or five would have been even better.

An exceptional stay, outstanding service and a truly special hotel.
We’ve just had an incredible stay at the Viceroy Bali in Ubud, and it genuinely exceeded our expectations. The hotel itself is spectacular. The setting overlooking the lush valley is breathtaking, the villas are beautiful, and everything feels peaceful, private and luxurious. But what really sets the Viceroy apart is the people. The level of service throughout our stay was exceptional — warm, personal and genuine without ever feeling forced. A special mention has to go to Patrick, the General Manager. It’s rare to see a General Manager who is so visible, approachable and personally invested in his guests’ experience. Patrick took the time to speak with us, made us feel genuinely welcome and clearly leads his team by example. You can see his attention to detail reflected throughout the entire hotel. We also have to mention Gung, our waiter, who was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, professional and always seemed to know exactly what we needed before we even had to ask. His personality and genuine warmth made our meals and time at the hotel even more enjoyable. He is a real credit to the Viceroy. There are many beautiful luxury hotels in Bali, but it’s the people who turn a beautiful hotel into somewhere you remember. Patrick, Gung and the whole Viceroy team did exactly that for us. From the stunning surroundings and beautiful accommodation to the food and exceptional service, we couldn’t fault our stay. Viceroy Bali is somewhere we would return to without hesitation and recommend wholeheartedly. A genuine 5-star experience. Lee, Kate, Jack and Sam.
