Le Richemond in Geneva, Switzerland

Full of prestige and historic elegance, the iconic Le Richemond hotel, part of Dorchester Collection, has greeted guests to Geneva since 1875. Perched on the banks of Lake Geneva, this luxury retreat overlooks the renowned Jet d'Eau, complemented by the illustrious snow-capped Alps in distance. Though the hotel was grandly renovated and modernized in the 21st century, it retains its classic charm and character through well preserved architectural elements and original touches throughout. Rooms and suites feature marble-lined baths, contemporary color schemes, and all the technological amenities modern travelers require. Le Spa offers further rest and respite, with a qualified team of therapists delivering refined treatments, and a full fitness and wellness facility that allows guests to train or relax in a sophisticated oasis.

The city of Geneva beckons to be explored, and Le Richemond is the perfect base for your adventures. The River Rhône runs right through this urban metropolis, and you will find a myriad of museums, monuments and landmarks to entertain your days. For a historic experience, visit Little Carouge, Geneva's oldest quarter, where quiet cafés make for great people watching, or take a public tour of Palais des Nations, which houses the European headquarters of the United Nations, and is also the second largest building in the world. The center of luxury shopping is the Rue du Rhône, which is home to many of the fine Swiss watchmakers and jewelers for which the country is well known. There are many outstanding restaurants throughout the city of Geneva, including Le Richemond's own Le Jardin, which uses seasonal ingredients to craft a gourmet Italian menu, and boasts outstanding service and an impressive wine list as well. Le Bar offers creative cocktails and live jazz entertainment, and hosts a lively glamourous ambiance for evenings of fun and relaxation. Whatever your need or whim, the hotel provides professional and friendly service to its guests in a manner that has made it famous for over a century. Experience Geneva in style at Le Richemond.

I have been going to Geneva for over 10 years for work and after trying a few hotels I now stay at Le Richemond every time. Just a short drive from the airport and a walk to the train station. Centrally located in the city right across the Lake and near all shops and restaurants. Rooms are small but quaint and the staff is very professional. Serves every need. This will continue to be my hotel of choice.

One night stay. Older and somewhat worn hotel with quick nofrills type of service. Requested early checkin which they were accomidating. Mentioned to Helen at reception that I had been traveling and needed rest. 45 minutes into my rest, a knock at my door to bring a bottle of water and a bar of chocolate. Later in the day as well as on my departure, employees standing by desk in conversation without acknowledgement or assistance with luggage. Not a five star hotel.

Le Richemond is in a superb location with views of the Jet d'Eau. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with lovely bathrooms. The staff are welcoming and recognise returning guests which is the mark of a top class hotel. We look forward to our next trip to Le Richemond.

Wonderful location but limited lake views. Excellent service including a very good spa. Bar menu could be more diverse. Lovely staff throughout. Room very large and comfortable, good bathroom with nice toiletries.
