Germany Trip Itineraries

Top Ten Things To Do in Germany

Destination(s): Berlin

Given its sheer size, Germany offers loads of things to do for you and your family, so we made a selection of interesting, relaxing and educational experiences that will give you an insight into this country's culture, history and natural beauty. A great way to spend the day and travel between places in on a cruise ship on the Rhine, while a boat trip on the canals of Hamburg will offer an unique perspective on this gorgeous city. However, if you want to stay clear of water, the large parks in any of the major cities are a great option. Check out Viktoriapark in Berlin to get some fresh air and observe the locals with their activities or book a place on the Munich Highlights Walking Tour to find out interesting and funny facts about the city's history in a relaxed walk through the old center. A must see is the stunning Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, a complex and decent reminder of the horrors Germany went through during WW2. read more about Top Ten Things To Do in Germany

Standing in the centre of Berlin, just five minutes walk away from the Reichstag the huge Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe stands as a remembrance of the darkest time of European history. The Holocaust Memorial consists of 2,711 concrete blocks of different heights and sizes, laid along uneven ground and covers 19,000m2. An exhibition showing the history of the Holocaust lies underneath the memorial and is open 7 days a week. The memorial was designed by architect Peter Eisenman and built in 1999. read more about Holocaust Memorial
