Top Ten Romantic Things to Do in Germany

Top Ten Romantic Things to Do in Germany
Destination(s): Berlin

Probably the most romantic activities anywhere are closely related to nature and the local landscape, so Germany offers a great range of parks and forests inside urban settings that provide the ideal setting for an afternoon walk and for getting some peace away from the noise of the city. Have a picnic on the banks of the famous Schlachtensee lake in Berlin or cycle through the huge Grunewald, a great place to discover some German wildlife and get some fresh air. However, the top of the list is by far the Bavarian Beer and Food Evening Tour in Munich, where you get to taste some of the finest German beers and find out all about their making and history. This is a truly cultural experience and an insight into the secrets of the organizers of the biggest beer festival in the world (Oktoberfest), so make sure you don't miss on the opportunity of taking part in it. read more about Top Ten Romantic Things to Do in Germany... Germany offers some unique and highly personalized accommodation opportunities to suit all tastes and budgets. Whether you prefer to spend the night in a classy old mansion with luxurious ambiance or you would rather go for a contemporary style with one of the design hotels, they are all on offer in vast and spectacular Germany. One of the best hotels in the country and in Europe is Hamburg's Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten , where each room is elegantly different and the high class antique atmosphere gives everything a distinctive touch. For high end posh travellers we recommend the eccentric Radisson Blu Hotel in Frankfurt or Berlin's ARCOTEL Velvet, located is right in the middle of all the action. However, for the budget traveller, there's no place like Hotel Prinzregent An Der Messe in Munich, where you get free transport passes, breakfast and parking just as a sign of appreciation for your choice. read more about Top Ten Hotels in Germany... Top Ten Cheap Restaurants in Germany

Top Ten Cheap Restaurants in Germany
Destination(s): Berlin

The best cheap restaurants in Germany are an ode to the traditional sausage and the wonderfully filling beer (it's no wonder that they say beer is the only way to drink your dinner), all in inviting settings packed with friendly locals and all sorts of international travellers. You will get some refined Franch offers at Bar Tabac in Cologne, but if you want an authentic local experience we suggest you try one of their beer gardens at Biergarten am Aachener Weiher. Another local place that is very popular among hungry Germans is Henne, where they serve the best fried free range chicken for you to enjoy with your hands, no cutlery included. The hungry traveller that knows how to party will have a great time at Bagdad, a Berlin cafe that is open 24/7 and serves some excellent kebabs in the company of top notch electronic music. read more about Top Ten Cheap Restaurants in Germany... Berlin post-modern style

Berlin post-modern style
Destination(s): Berlin

The post-modern architecture of the Jewish Museum is most striking. The windows are like gashes or scars on the side of the severe structure. There is no door to enter the building. You must enter the building next door, go down to the basement and then walk over to the Jewish Museum underground and then go up. The floors are all at a slight angle, so you always feel slightly disoriented. There's a maze made of uneven walls, which makes you feel somewhat nauseous when you walk through it. It doesn't sound so pleasant maybe, but could there be a better way to get a sense of the holocaust? Talk about an interactive building. Berlin's Film museum is much more upbeat, and no less amazing. You walk through a huge hall of mirrors. In every direction, up, down and on every side, is a reflection of a reflection of a reflection of ... well, you. It's a cool feeling, almost like walking through a parallel universe. And of course, there are the nods to all old greats of German cinema. read more about Berlin post-modern style... Read More

Top Ten Fun Restaurants in Germany

Top Ten Fun Restaurants in Germany
Destination(s): Berlin

There are lots of fun eateries on the German menu, so be prepared for some quite unusual settings and top notch places to delight all your senses. One of the best on the list is without a doubt Cologne's Silk, a super classy bed restaurant where you have dinner in huge white leather beds and a sexy lighting atmosphere to go with it. If this sounds like a bit too much, you should try the jazzy mood at Yorckschlösschen in Berlin or at the highly popular Cotton Club in Hamburg - be careful though, on weekends this place can get really busy and electric. A weird experience that requires you to build up a stomach (and helps with it, to be honest) is Last Supper, where the sassy staff and the rude comments can be the best of laughs, but not exactly for everyone. Oh, and there's always the Tiger Restaurant in Frankfurt, which we like to call the Michelin cabaret, and we'll leave it to you to figure why. read more about Top Ten Fun Restaurants in Germany...
