Waterfalls Walk through Lava Tubes and Wellington
Destination(s): Big Island (Hawaii)

Perfect for those who want to see the beauty of this island but are not at all interested in long heart pumping hikes, brave enough to venture out with minimum supervision and like adventures short, satisfying and relaxing. This half-day Big Island itinerary fits in well for early or late risers, day-trippers, kids and more. It requires a rental car, and ten dollars for entrance into the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, reservations for a 50-minute helicopter tour and a huge appetite to enjoy either lunch or dinner at one of Hilo’s favorite award winning local spots. It is an enjoyable morning or afternoon perfect for romantics to linger leisurely and quick moving enough for kids with shorter attention spans, and for everyone who enjoys easy access to all that is the Big Island has to offer. Best Oahu Golf Holes

Best Oahu Golf Holes
Destination(s): Oahu

Oahu is the home of a large selection of golf courses. From the most heavily played public course in the country at Ala Wai to the highly touted home of Sony Open at Waialae, there is a course for everyone on Oahu. Here are my top five picks. Koolina - #12 166 yard Par 3Located about 45 minutes from Waikiki on the sunny leeward side of the island, this course is challenging, breezy and enjoyable. The course is a part of the every growing Koolina Resort. When arriving at the resort, one takes the resort exit and just over the bridge on the left is #12. A drive-through cascading waterfall and the ladybug logo are on display to welcome and entice.Royal Kunia #9 621 yards Par 5One of the newest courses on the island the Royal Kunia has most golfers curious about what this new course can bring to the game. Located mauka, this hillside course offers fantastic views of Diamond, Waikiki and the entire south shore. #9 offers a variety of hazards from bunkers to water to amazing views to add strokes.Koolau #15 373 yards Par 4Those who play this course must secretly think that Koolau means ”lots of lost balls” in Hawaiian. Not exactly, but the recommendation here is to bring an extra box of balls to keep your game going. Sloppy shots will ensure that the jungle will forever hold the secret to wayward balls. #15 is one of the more forgiving on the course but it makes this list for the striking views of the Koolau Mountains.Luana Hills #11 343 yard Par 4Hardly one of the more high profile courses on the island, but locals know that Luana Hills is a unique experience. The hidden windward Oahu location makes for an interesting landscape that includes tropical rainforest canopies, streams and more. #11 is a feast for the eyes and a skill challenge to reach the green over water fountains and through thick undergrowth.Turtle Bay Resort – Arnold Palmer #17 452 yards Par 4The pair or courses at Turtle Bay have reached new heights with the recent refurbishing and re-alignment. The Arnold Palmer course has certainly been the hand down favorite, and now it is even better than before. #17 is not only the most beautiful but the toughest on the course with nine bunkers and water hazard called the open ocean. The elevated green makes the long drive tempting, but miss it and the ocean will claim victory read more about Best Oahu Golf Holes... Read More
