Reviews for Old Edwards Inn and Spa

Great Inn, amazing service, great location.

Fantastic service. Came there impromptu after bad experience at different Inn. The staff were amazing, got us a beautiful lodge room, made us feel right at home. Outstanding little touches like a gift bag for our son with his name on it, everyone knowing our names, constantly asking how they could make our stay better. Fantastic meals, and its right in the heart of town, so you could walk to other lovely restaurants.

A top-notch resort in the mountains

The entire resort property is wonderful. High-touch service, well-appointed rooms with heated bathroom floors, screen porch, fireplace, robes, refrigerator, Nespresso coffee maker. We were in Blue Valley cottage 29. We did not visit the Spa but the fitness center and pool were awesome. We loved the welcome champagne cocktail upon arrival. We ate appetizers and then dinner the next night at Four65 Bistro just a few steps from the Historic Inn. The drinks and our food (mussels and the fig/arugula/goatcheese pizza were outstanding.) Our first night dinner after arrival was at Madison’s. I would skip it. There are other fine restaurants in town. It was an unremarkable experience with average food and below average service. I reviewed it on Open Table. We got our coffee and breakfast sandwiches/muffins at Calder’s Coffee across the street. Wonderful fresh homemade food and delicious coffee along with friendly staff. Open at 7 am. Try the biscuit sandwich with egg and bacon and the lemon/cranberry muffin. The pool was open and heated on April 25 and was a great treat after our hike. We loved it all and would definitely return to Old Edwards.

Girls trip. Historic hotel. Excellent service. 5 star.

Lovely hotel located on the heart of the Highlands. Couldn’t have a more desirable location, right in the middle of the town. This stay was for a girls trip. Superb service, as well as dining. The live entertainment in the the bar was enjoyable as well.

Not what it used to be

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My husband and I have been coming for years and while we have noticed a decline in the level of service, we still always look forward to our yearly romantic getaway. We’ve enthusiastically recommended OEI to our family and friends. I should have known that things were going to be different when I called to book spa services and I was told their new policy regarding day passes. In the past, access to the spa amenities was included for all guests. My husband and I always enjoyed a lunch in the cafe, time in the quiet room and enjoying the sauna and steam room. When I called to book my spa services for this stay, there wasn’t much availability for both of us to get services but they said he could buy a day pass. We arrive today to find that they don’t even offer day passes on Friday and Saturday and could not even allow him to come eat lunch with me in the cafe. While I was bummed about not being able to enjoy our usual spa time together, I’m not going to make a big deal about someone making a mistake at the booking. There has always been a technology policy and I have always brought a kindle that makes no noise or even light and it has never been an issue. This time though, I am approached by staff while I am reading in a public area and told it is not allowed. I understand their commitment to creating a peaceful environment for all guests, however I fail to understand how a device that creates absolutely no disturbance to anyone else and is a very relaxing diversion for many people could be forbidden. I’ve never been made to feel so unwelcome here and I am honestly devastated to have lost what I have always considered “my happy place” and all the rituals and activities we have always enjoyed here. We will not be coming back. Do not expect a good customer service experience. They really do not care about making you feel comfortable or welcome which is the whole point of the hospitality industry.

Very nice hotel

This is a very nice hotel, especially if you love old and/or historical places. I love that you can park right outside of the hotel, providing immediate access to your car. We stayed in the historic inn and I loved that it is small and coffee was at the bottom of the steps every morning. We had a suite but the sofa was old and very uncomfortable.
