We stayed in one of the town houses, which was beautifully appointed, and with loads of character. The whole place was charming. Marta does the most amazing ‘rose facial’ in the spa. I would definitely recommend this place.

We recently spent an absolutely wonderful week at Areias do Seixo with our four young children and Nanny. We stayed in one of the villas and it was truly the most magical and genuinely enjoyable holiday we have ever had, and I credit the wonderful hotel and staff for our fabulous stay. We have travelled a lot and I can say without hesitation that I have never felt so welcomed and well looked after by a hotel owner and staff. From the warm and exceptionally welcoming owner Marta to every member of the team which is clearly exceptionally well trained, everyone greeted us with such genuine kindness and warmth. (All of this in spite of the fact that we had four young children in tow and the noise and mess that comes with them.) The staff organised two lovely afternoon classes for our older children, an art class and a cooking class, at no additional charge, and the quality of these classes exceeded any childrens' class we've participated in London, which have been a lot. There is so much attention to detail in the beautiful decor, the lovely herb infused tea and pastries you can help yourself to in the afternoons, the evening fires with wine against an absolutely stunning backdrop overlooking the gardens. We also spent a very inspiring afternoon learning about the organic garden from the head gardener which was such a treat for both adults and children. We rode the hotel's bikes to the beautiful coast nearby, visited a lovely local farmers market in a nearby town at the recommendation of a staff member, and enjoyed many walks exploring the gardens and beautifully maintained grounds of the hotel. The breakfasts were an absolute delight, and my husband and I enjoyed two fabulous dinners at the hotel which were excellent. We also visited the nearby sister restaurant Noah for lunch and found it to be just as exceptional and welcoming as the hotel. We did a bit of exploring around this beautiful part of Portugal but honestly it was such a pleasure to just spend time at our villa and on the grounds of the hotel and nearby coast and beaches that I found it difficult to leave. Our villa was spacious, super clean, very well appointed and beautifully designed. We had a small pool which the children enjoyed, a fully equipped kitchen, and plenty of space for all seven of us. We have stayed in many hotels and rented several villas around Europe but this struck the absolute perfect balance in that we had our own villa with plenty of space for us and the children, our own pool, a full size kitchen with a large rustic dining table where we could prepare meals for the kids and/or ourselves, but it was lovely to get to enjoy breakfasts each morning at the hotel, and have access to all the other benefits and support of a hotel with any questions or assistance we needed. It was also wonderful to have the benefit of daily cleaning by the hotel staff (who were incredibly gifted at coming in to clean without a trace while we were out) and the villa was always left immaculate by them. Finally, compared to other holiday villas and hotels we've visited, the excellent value of what we got is beyond comparison to other places we've stayed. I cannot find fault in this exceptional hotel, it was such a treat to get to spend a week there and I honestly cannot wait to plan our return.

We really loved this hotel, it is decorated with a lot of taste, it is really well designed, the common areas were just terrific! the room was marvelous, an amazing mix between wood and more modern materials, the bathroom was incredible, with a fireplace, we loved so much having a jacuzzi while watching the fire! the area is amazing, you are just in front of the sea, and you have so many things to do in that region. service was uneven (the 3 guys in the restaurant were great, some other less) food was good, especially the ingredients which are very fresh, but sometimes, i really think that they should let some space to simplicity, i mean for exemple, you should be able to eat a simple club sandwich wherever you go... sometimes they tried to do something too fancy and they can't really handle it. We do like complexity but only when it is well executed. But some dishes like the veal where very good! the wine list is just amazing, i really want to thank the two waiters who really gave us good advise, we really tasted amazing Portuguese wines! didn't like our spa treatment it is more an overall problem in hotels, but i don't understand why the swimming pool is not heated in beautiful hotels like this, what a shame not being able to be able to enjoy this amazing swimming pool... Overhall, despite some little details, the quality price ratio is just amazing, and we really loved our time there! the area is fantastic and if you want to visit it you MUST stay in this hotel!

We had a high expectation because those who knew the hotel said wonders about it. We found everything we were told: calm, service, friendliness, informality, neat decoration, good room and bed, ... a 5 * hotel in a relaxed yet luxurious environment. We were served tea on arrival with a slice of homemade cake, in the room we had fruit, homemade small cokies and water. We had a glass of wine by the fireplace before dinner with the other guests and after the dinner . At dinner prevail the service - excellent. The food did not surprise but the wines served are a good choice. The breakfast is very nice and based on home made food and with healthy options and again the service is excellent. We did not have a chance to try the outdoor pool (it was cold) nor the SPA. Trying on a next opportunity. On the way out they still gave us a little treat: a small bag of homemade cakes. Definitely an excellent experience.

When you enter Areias do Seixo, it is not a hotel you find but your own house and family waiting for you. Breakfast is superb. Lunch and dinner light and tasty, cooked with their own organic farm produces.
