Graced with sheltered harbors and azure waters, Green Turtle Cay is one of the oldest settled islands in the northern Bahamas. A longtime haven for yachtsmen and beach lovers, this charming island is home to one of the Caribbean's most delightful hideaways. The casually elegant Bluff House Beach Hotel enjoys an idyllic estate setting atop the cay's highest point. Once a private home, today it boasts a beautiful collection of colonial-style suites and marina villas.

Molly and her Family and Staff are amazing. They look after both the Bluff House and the Tranquil Turtle. Both have so much to offer and are a few minutes walk away. The food is delicious. The accomadations are excellant and plentiful and clean. The Views are spectacular. We rented a golf cart from T and A cart rentals. This gave us acess to the entire Island. This means many Beaches, Resturaunts and Activities. Our favorite Beach was either Tranquil Turtle, Coco Beach with the Turtles or Gillam Beach which was shallow and went for Kilometers. To get there you fly into Marsh Harbour, take a Taxi to Treasure Cay and a 15 min Ferry ride. You can ask to be dropped off right at the Bluff House dock if you like. It is so safe there. They have 1 policeman who reportedly does nothing. Their saying is if it isn’t yours don’t touch it. If you see Molly or her staff say Hi from us! You arrive as a Tourist and leave as Family. We had a kitchenette so we cooked some at home and ate out as well. There are many choices for groceries.

I stayed at the Bluff House Resort this past week and can’t say enough great things about it. The staff are absolutely amazing and so accommodating. Anything you need and they are there to help. There was a big group of us there for a Wedding and they made it very special. The food and service were amazing. Everyone is extremely friendly. The rooms were very clean and restocked everyday. The houses were super nice as well. I highly recommend staying here for any occasion!

We had a beautiful wedding a the Bluff House. The service is on point!! The staff is amazing Molly took really good care of everyone that was there for the wedding. Makala, Cha and all the service did everything to keep our large group happy. The chef did awesome job with the food, from the conch fritter, conch chowder, Johnny cake, mac and cheese, fish, burger. peas and rice, everything I ate was great. I totally can not wait to return one day soon and see everyone.

Tranquil Turtle for lunch cannot be beat! Beautiful view and awesome meals. Fresh fish burger or fish tacos are always so good. The fish is always so fresh. And if your lucky Novie will be your server. She is always smiling and such a pleasant and professional waitress.

Snooty, impatient travelers: please choose elsewhere. This island has the most relaxed vibe and friendly people, with some of the most gorgeous beaches and views you could hope for. The Bluff House Resort has everything in one place. Our room was beautiful and clean, with a deck overlocking the Abaco Sea. We watched the spectacular sunsets every evening from there. A short walk away was our favorite parking spot for the day: The Tranquil Turtle. It has a great bar with lunch and drinks next to the best beach on the island. The water is clear and usually calm with snorkeling not far off the beach and there is volleyball and other activities mixed with hammocks and longe chairs. We ate breakfast and lunch at The Boathouse, also a short walk or golf cart ride away. The staff rotates between the Boathouse and Tranquil Turtle, so you see the same faces and they start recognizing you quickly. Such a sweet and friendly group! There are other great restaurants and beach bars. We had a great time exploring the island. Cocoa Bay is an excellent shallow, clear water beach where you can wade to the dock end and feed turtles and rays. There are pigs and chickens you can feed along the roads too. Despite other offerings on the island, we seemed to always prefer everything the Bluff House offered. Lastly, what I hope that people visiting will understand is that this is a small island. They will run out of things and it takes longer on any island for anything. Before you go, read about Green Turtle Cay. The loss there during Hurricane Dorian was horrific. Talk to the people there who lost everything in the hurricane and rebuilt the whole island (and are still rebuilding). They are a unique team that work together to build a great community. So, put on a smile and relax… enjoy the people, scenery, and be thankful…it gets no better than this. We will be back as soon as possible!
