Reviews for Tikida Golf Palace
We spent a golfing week in this beautiful place. We didn’t go too much out to town as we wanted more to relax, it was ideal. The service spirit of the restaurant team is great. It meant a lot to us. Special thanks to Fayzel in the bar, to Oussama in the restaurant, Mounir and the lady who helped us on the terrace at the breakfast (the 12th) as well as the lady who was preparing the egg dishes. The meals every night were a true discovery of local taste, thank you for the Chef. The room was spotless and comfy. The WiFi worked well, except in the restaurant but this is a minor point.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Golf Palace, a pretty good descriptor for the hotel as it resembles a small palace and is bang on the two golf courses of the Golf du Soleil, with several holes running close to the hotel. Even the cheapest rooms are very spacious, with sitting area, a balcony or terrace and a sizeable changing room which helps keep the main room free of clothes and clutter. Bathrooms include powerful 'rain showers' ideal after a day in the sun playing golf. We found the room to be a very pleasant place to relax in, much more than just a place to sleep in. The journey from the airport took us through some pretty ugly neighbourhoods and it was only in the last few hundred yards that the environment improved. So don't be alarmed, once you are through the gates (manned by security) all is fine. The hotel itself is the classic Moroccan design comprising of two large inner courtyards, one laid to an attractive formal garden in Moorish style, the other with a swimming pool, sufficiently heated to be useable in the 20-21C conditions of late January. This was a very pleasant place to relax and as the hotel is fairly small, never felt crowded, which contrasted with most of the other hotels in Agadir. The bar area was adequately comfortable and enhanced by a log fire in the evening (it is quite cold in the evening at this time of year). We had dinner in the restaurant a couple of evenings; it was ok but a bit uninspiring so for the other evenings, we went out. Breakfast was decent. We enjoyed the golf, the courses are nice, attractively presented and reasonably well maintained, especially given how busy they are. That is perhaps the biggest problem- you had better expect 4 or 5 hour rounds. The hotel had a club store and ran a buggy service to the clubhouse and co-ordinated reasonably well on tee times- I think the golf course and hotel are part of the same group. It's worth saying the hotel is a fair way from Agadir itself, which is no bad thing since Agadir is a pretty unappealing place full of massive and rather ugly package tour hotels. Other than a quick walk on the beach at our hotel's sister hotel, we avoided it like the plague. And if you don't play golf, I'd say the options for outings are therefore very limited- we certainly couldn't find any trip that looked worthwhile. But we were there for some rest and relaxation- and the golf- and the hotel delivered on that score. If you are the type who wants 'entertainment' on holiday, this hotel is not for you; it is small, quiet (mostly full of 60 plus French golfers) and there is no entertainment programme (thank god). Staff were very friendly and pleasant, albeit service was not entirely glitch free. But never anything serious and nothing that was not put right with a smile. The only reason I've taken off a star is I think the food at dinner could be a bit better, and that there is an occasional smell of drains emanating, apparently, from sewage being emptied into the nearby estuary. The smell wasn't there all the time and sometimes barely noticeable, but it's a shame given the place is otherwise so pleasant. To be fair, it is nothing to do with the hotel and apparently they have been trying to persuade the local authority to sort it (best of luck on that one!!). We also had a few problems with ants in the rooms so it's best not to leave leftover drinks or food and to be fair again, I think they are pretty unavoidable in a country like Morocco. One final word of caution- leave plenty of time on your return to the airport. It is a classic example of chaotic and totally pointless Moroccan bureaucracy and unless you leave around 2 hours (plus the 30-40 minutes drive to get there), you might well miss your flight home.

We stayed here for 1 week in July during my 4 week vacation in Morocco. I was there with my family of 2 kids and my wife. Although it isn't the most child friendly hotel. The staff was the best and I think the most friendly hotel staff I ever encountered. The breakfast was top notch. Like I said in the title the scenery is great especially on the golf course. The room was perfect with the best bathroom. It had a separate shower and bath. Loved it!
