The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra

Absolutely incredible experience. The hotel is one of those ‘one-and-only’ properties for a particular location that truly has no competition in its segment. The service was absolutely amazing. Since I always stay in high-end 5-star properties, I’m used to good service — but this was on another level. They made you feel at home and genuinely cared about every single detail, to the point where it was almost astonishing. Our guide, Kishore Guppta, was exceptional: well-mannered, well-educated, and a very pleasant person who truly knew what he was doing. He did a fantastic job showing us the history and culture of Agra and India.

Our stay at The Oberoi Amarvilās was outstanding from start to finish. Arpan made the planning and booking effortless, and on arrival, Dhruba’s warm welcome and engaging stories set the tone for a memorable trip. We were upgraded to a suite, which was beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable — the kind of space where you genuinely want to slow down and unwind. Housekeeping, led by Mr. Vasu and Rahul, kept everything immaculate with quiet efficiency. Dining was another highlight. Vishal looked after us wonderfully, and Chef Kushagra’s food was exceptional. His thoughtful gesture of packing us a meal for the journey back truly touched us. A special word of appreciation for Mr. Rohit, the GM, whose gracious presence added a personal warmth to our stay. And the temperature-controlled pool was pure bliss in the mild winter weather. Overall, Amarvilās left us with beautiful memories and a strong desire to return soon.

Service: What touched us most was the warmth of your team. Every single person we encountered greeted us with a smile that felt genuine, not rehearsed. No request was too small; everyone went out of their way to make us comfortable. We’ve stayed in many fine hotels around the world, but none have shown this level of sincere care and grace. Hospitality: From our first reservation call to the final goodbye, we felt truly seen and valued. Your personal presence at both check-in and checkout meant a lot—it added such a human and heartfelt touch.After traveling far and wide, we can say without hesitation that Amarvilas stands apart—not just for its beauty, but for its soul. This was a special experience in a very special hotel. Pretty much flawless. The cuisine outstanding and the chefs were incredibly accommodating given particular allergies. The view of the Taj from our room was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble. Our guide to the Taj Mahal Sandeep was incredible- knowledgeable and very engaging.

We were planning to visit India and Taj Mahal for the last 3 years. This year, we finally made the decision and chose Oberoi Amarvilas to stay for a few nights. We have been to many places and stayed at many hotels. But this hotel is like at a completely different level. The location (only 600M from Taj Mahal), room, customer service, restaurants and all the people there were absolutely brilliant. We chose a room with the balcony, overlooking the Taj Mahal - and every morning it was breath taking. We had a tour guide - Talib Khan - with all honesty - he made sure that we are getting the most out of our visit. His strong historical and local knowledge helped us navigate through one of the precious jewels in architecture. We visited Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, as well as the opposite side of the river from where we were able to take some amazing photos of the Taj. If you are visiting Agra - I would strongly recommend The Oberoi Amarvilas and Talib as the tour guide - for sure.
