What a setting, every room overlooking the Taj Mahal ! - Oberoi Management ever present, we had a few mix ups with our arranged plans, for which they were very apologetic. Great Hotel. Pool area quite constrained. Decent gym, plenty of space. Staff & service excellent. Great location. Easy to recommend.

Very few of us will be lucky enough to visit the Taj Mahal more than one in our lifetime, so if you can afford to do so, why not stay in the best hotel? From the moment you arrive, it's an experience like no other. Do book the dawn visit to the Taj, it's a short ride in in golf buggy, then you can stroll back in time for breakfast. Do book the "Dine Under the Stars" dinner experience and do give yourself enough time to enjoy the grounds.

My husband and I spent 23 days in January and February traveling throughout northern India and had the pleasure of staying at six Oberoi properties during our journey. With the exception of The Oberoi Amarvilas, our experiences at the other five Oberoi hotels were truly exceptional. The service, attention to detail, and overall hospitality were so impressive that we gladly wrote outstanding reviews and gave the highest ratings possible. Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was markedly different, particularly with regard to the level of service we received. The inconsistencies and interactions we encountered did not reflect the high standards we had come to expect from the Oberoi brand. We felt it was important to share this feedback, as our overall journey through India was memorable and extraordinary, and we had anticipated the same level of excellence at every Oberoi property We arrived close to 5:00 pm and, during check-in, I specifically asked to ensure that we would receive a room with a balcony view of the Taj Mahal. The staff member handling our registration assured me that we would be assigned a room on the highest floor with a view of the Taj Mahal. As my tour guide for the evening sunset visit was already waiting and we were running late, I left my luggage with the concierge, and I was informed that the room would be ready upon my return. When we returned later that evening, I was surprised to discover that we had been assigned a room on a lower floor. Even more upsetting was the manner in which I was treated by the front desk manager. I was spoken to in a belittling tone and informed that the upper-floor rooms were not included in the category I had reserved. This was not the information provided to me during check-in, when I was clearly assured otherwise. While dining, we requested a bottle of water with ice and lemon. The waiter brought the bottle of water; however, the ice and lemon were missing. We politely asked again, and then a third time, but our request continued to be ignored. Meanwhile, we were in the middle of our meal without the basic items we had requested. Eventually, I had to leave the table, locate the restaurant manager personally, and explain the situation. Only then were the ice and lemon brought to our table. The inconsistency in communication and the dismissive attitude I encountered significantly affected what was meant to be a special visit..

Amazing staff, relaxing ambiance, delicious food, excellent service and an unrivalled location. Impossible to find any fault in it.
