Heaven in the clouds

Xandari is definitely heaven among the clouds. The beautiful grounds, wonderful meals and fantastic staff have made our final days in Costa Rica very memorable. Special thanks to Oscar who made our time here feel so special as he took extra care to make sure we felt cared for with personal attention. Thanks to all who made our stay the best form of Pura Vida we could hope for!

A super place away from the city bustle. We stayed at Xandari when we arrived on our Costa Rica trip over 2 weeks ago. Too tired and lack of time didn't allow us to take in the full Xandari experience. Fortunately we stayed the night before we flew so this too could take all that was on offer. 1st the staff is tremendous. A special shout to Karla who was so warm and helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant . The views from our spacious and comfortable rooms were fantastic. The sunset was so perfect. It's a great place to both start and end your journey through Costa Rica. Highly recommend it.

Great massage at the very lovely spa from Lisbeth, following a jacuzzi experience looking out over the amazing forests and huge panorama. This was a fantastic peaceful way to spend a day following long haul flights. The wonderful caring staff, delicious food, terrific rooms, beautifully kept grounds & swimming pools plus waterfalls & hikes within the grounds make Xandari unbeatable. Highly recommended.

A lovely modern hotel overlooking the central valley. Comfortable large suite, stunning views. Well organised guided tours. Lovely restaurant and food. Staff very helpful. They lay on buggies to take you to and from your room. Highly recommend this hotel to start your Costa Rica adventure.

We love Xandari. You have the perfect combination of elegance and comfort, without the pretension and over solicitousness of other comparable hotels.

You have created wonder and magic, and have topped it off with a friendly and gracious staff.

My experience at Xandari has been more than value...it's about personal warmth and touch. Gentility is a rare treasure in the service industry. Costa Rica offers this on many levels and Xandari exceeds it.

We have never been to a place where the imprint of human creativity is so well balanced with the beauty of nature.

“Travel Dates: March 24-28, 2013 Room: Villa 3 We are from the States. We chose Xandari based upon ratings from the trip advisor website, its proximity to the San Jose airport and its centrally located position (w/r/t to the country as a whole). We chose to rent a vehicle (easy to drive in Costa Rica as long as u have a 4x4 vehicle and a GPS)- would recommend limited night time driving. Xandari was an oasis set on the hillside with beautiful views of San Jose. The first night we arrived, we were greeted by the bellman and hotel desk staff. We were quickly whisked away to our room. We had an Ultra villa, which was more than enough room for me and my wife. The room had a small collection of ants near the screen door (my wife is terrified of bugs so this was more of an issue for her). The staff was extremely apologetic and quickly made arrangements to transfer us to another room. They did so within 15 minutes and we failed to have another complaint. Service at the restaurant was great, especially given the laissez-faire attitudes of most Costa-Ricans. The grounds were well maintained. The staff was extremely attentive and responsive to any request. The rooms were cleaned well by the maids. The bed, at least in my unit, was comfortable. Things to note: No air-condition, but they do have fans upon request (it gets quite cool at night, so this wasn't a significant issue for us). No TVs in the room, but they do have one in the main house (more of an issue if u like to keep up on your sports, etc while on vacation). Mild-moderate amount of insects outside of your rooms, but keep in mind the resort is set in a hill side jungle, replete with water falls, etc so this should be expected”
