Xandari Resort And Spa

Our first night in Costa Rica got off to a fantastic start thanks to Xandari Resort & Spa! Even though our stay was brief, this resort made an excellent first impression with its beautiful setting, unique accommodations, delicious food, and outstanding service. We stayed in the two-room villa, located toward the end of the property near the chicken coop. Surprisingly, the chickens weren't nearly as noisy as we expected, so no early-morning rooster concert to ruin our stay! The villa was also conveniently located near the infinity pool, and the balcony offered an absolutely amazing view. It was a great place to relax and take in the surrounding scenery. One thing to note: I don't recall seeing air conditioning in the rooms (although I may have overlooked it). Fortunately, opening the windows and doors allowed a lovely cross-breeze to flow through the villa, which helped keep things comfortable. The property itself is HUGE and features a trail system that takes you past several small waterfalls. We initially assumed the trails would be paved, but that definitely wasn't the case! We ventured out after a brief rain shower, and parts of the trail were muddy and slippery. We managed in flip-flops and regular street shoes, but learn from our experience and bring sturdy sneakers or hiking boots if you plan to explore the trails. We also enjoyed the resort's restaurant, which has an intimate atmosphere and patio seating overlooking the valley. The food was good, and the portions were generous—come hungry! The highlight, though, was the staff and their exceptional hospitality. Since we had an early departure the following morning and wouldn't have time for a sit-down breakfast, the staff graciously arranged breakfast bags for us to take along. These included hard-boiled eggs, fresh pineapple and mango, banana bread, assorted pastries, and juice. What a thoughtful touch! It was exactly the kind of personal service that makes a hotel stay memorable. Five stars for Xandari Resort & Spa! Between the beautiful views, spacious villa, lush grounds, good food, and genuinely friendly staff, this was a wonderful introduction to Costa Rica. We only had one night here, but the team made sure we enjoyed every minute of it. I'd happily recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing stay surrounded by Costa Rica's natural beauty. Just remember to pack your hiking shoes!

I had such an extraordinary experience receiving a massage from Irene in their beautiful spa. She was incredibly skilled and attentive, and the whole experience was exactly what I needed to truly relax and unwind during our vacation in Costa Rica. The space was gorgeous, the massage was top-notch, and I left feeling completely rejuvenated. I would absolutely recommend Irene and can’t wait to return!

We stayed two nights at the end of our babymoon and it was really great. My wife was 26 weeks pregnant and I had read that there was no AC in the rooms. I was extremely nervous about her being too hot to sleep but the room was very cool and comfortable. There was a large ceiling fan that really did keep the room cold enough to be under blankets for. The property is large with only a few areas for the suites, so it still felt very private. The walking trails were nice to do after breakfast. They also were one of the only spas to offer a prenatal couple’s massage (shout out to Deimy and Lisbeth for those amazing massages). The stay was well priced, and worth the value since it also included the buffet and traditional breakfast. The meals for breakfast and dinner were tasty (I recommend the scotch bonnet fish meal pictured). This was a perfect end to our two-week hiking trip and it was nice to just relax. The hotel is a quick drive to the airport, and you can see it from the view of the restaurant. This means that it is a great place to stay before an early morning flight, but you can hear some planes flying above you throughout the property. I absolutely recommend staying here, especially at the end of a trip, and before flying out. Lastly, I wanted to recognize Dilan, Abigail, Oscar, Bacci, Luis, and Ericka for their amazing service throughout our stay. We plan on returning to Costa Rica, and will be staying here again before we fly out.
