I do find it incredible that after 2 years of chasing these people for the erroneous reports and dismally unprofessional service they gave me that they admitted was not how they like to do things, they still have managed to truly mess things even more. They agreed to host me for a repeat visit instead of refunding the horrendously expensive and unnecessary services they performed to ring up sales. Next thing you know they tell me it's only for the room but not for the actual weight loss program I had paid for. So they manage to alienate me, tell me they will host me to repeat.and then manage to alienate me further by misguided cheapness - given how much I had paid on two prior stays. Well let's say they did not create a fan in me. Never again but I wanted to post this to ensure people realize that this is not a warm spa where your well being is paramount but a ruthless business that is run to maximize profit at the expense of clients -push more and more testing and then give wrong diagnosis with zero follow up. Shame as spa is beautiful.

Nice hotel Not sure how to rate spa. Food and health drinks excellent for me. Had dreadful indigestion problem on last day. Think I had too many colonics. Expensive for what was on offer. I have been to many spas but found this a bit lightweight. I was impressed by diet food.

My daughter and I went to the SHA for a 5-night healthy holiday and were impressed with some aspects of the Clinic but disappointed with others. The direct flight and 45-minute transfer from the airport made getting there and back from the UK nice and easy. The Clinic itself is beautifully appointed, with a white minimalist decor and there's a wonderful rooftop terrace with beautiful views of the mountains and sea. We had an entry-level room which was stylish, comfortable and very spacious - certainly big enough for the two of us. The therapists were excellent, although some of them did not speak good English and were hard to understand. The early morning walks were well worth going on - the beach walk was very easy, along the flat seafront promenade, and the walk to the lighthouse was a little more energetic, with amazing views. We were pleased that we opted for the SHA menu, which is the least restrictive one, as that provided 2 choices for the main course and we didn't fancy a number of the macrobiotic dishes on offer. We're used to a relatively high-protein, low-carb/sugar diet and sometimes struggled with the macrobiotic cuisine which featured a lot of pasta/noodles/rice. For us, breakfast was the best meal of the day as it comprised mini-portions of a range of tasty treats including fresh fruit. We particularly enjoyed the apple and carrot juice you could choose to accompany breakfast. We found the teas we were "prescribed" by the rather unengaging and uninspiring nutritionist revolting and often couldn't face drinking them. One tip we picked up from a guest who had been before .... if you really don't fancy anything on the SHA menu at lunch/dinner, you can request the catch of the day and vegetables, which is delicious. Although the treatments were generally very good, they didn't quite warrant their extremely high prices. Fortunately, we didn't suffer the "upselling" that other reviewers have commented on, but perhaps we were regarded as a lost cause on that front! The SHA primarily caters for the international rich (a group to which we most definitely don't belong!) and there are a lot of reed-thin, pouty "princesses" glued to their phones seemingly living their lives through Instagram rather than enjoying their back-to-back treatments. There are also a number of portly businessmen, several on their own, who seem to have an annual stay to try to remedy the previous 12 months' excesses and get themselves back on track. A number of the guests were demanding and rather rude and this seems to have "hardened" many of the frontline staff at reception and in the dining room as they adopt a defensive and somewhat cold approach when interacting with guests, as though they anticipate trouble. This is off-putting when all you want to do is politely make a reasonable and straightforward request or just ask for some information! We were surprised that, rather than focusing on educating its guests in healthy living, the Clinic instead fosters a dependency culture - presumably to generate repeat business as guests leave unequipped to keep up the good work at home. Many of the guests seemed to be paranoid about their health and this was indulged. We found it disconcerting to sit and wait for treatments in an area where young, apparently fit guests were using an "oxygen bar" looking as they were elderly residents in a nursing home on nebulisers! And personal training sessions always ended with the trainer stretching the guest, rather than the guest learning the best stretches for them to do at home. So our stay was an experience, but not one we shall repeat. It's a luxurious Clinic but it lacks warmth and, for us at least, did not represent value for money.

Went to SHA second time - enjoyed now more as now I understand better their philosophy. I did a short detox program a la carte - worked out perfect for me - weight reduced to target just in 3 days! And no starving :)

I recently had the pleasure of my first trip to the SHA Wellness Clinic for a facial. I liked the variety of services available, including most recent innovations. Staff are professional and speak multiple languages. The atmosphere is tranquil and rejuvenating. Initially I found it difficult to find day-visit la carte spa choices on their website, but when I emailed staff, they sent me a list of available services. Prices are expensive, but worth it.
