Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi

⭐️ (3 out of 5) – Beautiful Resort, Disappointing Experience We were supposed to receive a complimentary room upgrade through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, but at check-in were told, “We don’t do that,” and were given “a little balcony” instead. Once in the room, the door didn’t lock, and we waited nearly two hours for maintenance to fix it. My wife didn’t feel comfortable leaving until it was repaired. The hotel offered only an apology — no gesture to make things right. The rest of our stay was nice — the staff was excellent, breakfast was great (try the French toast), and drinks like the Golden Negroni (32 €) were beautifully made. However, our final night fell flat: no turn-down service and a 380 € dinner at the Thai restaurant that was the worst of our 16-day trip — bland, uninspired, and overpriced. We’ve eaten authentic Thai food in Thailand and even small-town Georgia has better flavor at a quarter of the price. The property is stunning and the staff kind, but management missed the mark. At this price point, the details and follow-through should match the view — they didn’t.

This is one special property. Perched atop the hillside above Amalfi, we had an amazing view of the bay and surrounding coast. The service is is exceptional. Two restaurant offerings onsite (we went to La Locanda twice it was so good- try the eggplant) We had an early check out and the hotel offered us boxes of sandwiches to go. We will return soon (we hope)

From the moment we entered the hotel we were met with a warm and friendly welcome, the stress of driving to Almalfi melted away. Fabulous location and pure luxury.

Hotel is beautiful with amazing views and service. We stayed with other couples and enjoyed the pool and hotel restaurants and bar. We also did a pizza making class which was a lot of fun and the pizza tasted so good. I highly recommend this hotel.

From the very first moment, it was an unforgettable experience. The location is perfect, the hotel itself is stunning, and the views are simply breathtaking. I stayed here to celebrate my birthday in Amalfi, and the lovely ladies at the front desk made me feel truly special and celebrated. The restaurant experience was also exceptional, making every meal a delight. Overall, it was not only a wonderful stay but also the best choice I could have made for such a special occasion.
