El Pescador in Ambergris Caye, Belize
Combining picturesque tropical accommodations with unforgettable adventure, El Pescador is both a haven and a playground off the east coast of Belize. This family-run resort enjoys a secluded location on the beach at Ambergris Caye, where each of the freestanding luxury villas - as well as all guest rooms in the gracious, colonial-style lodge - face the sea. Savor the Caribbean's distinctive flavors with fresh local cuisine at the restaurant, then head to the bar to swap the day's stories over signature rum punch. Whether you are dreaming of active pursuits, water adventures, or just relaxing in a beachfront paradise, the experienced staff at El Pescador resort will help you have the perfect Belize vacation.
From trolling the local waters to casting in the tarpon flats, fishing is a highlight at this singular resort. When not on the hunt for bonefish or permit, you might explore the region's famed barrier reef with El Pescador's own master dive and snorkel instructors. Stroll to nearby San Pedro town for its lively dining scene, or take a jungle river cruise to a Mayan archaeological site. When it comes to unique pursuits, the opportunities at El Pescador are endless.

Reviews for El Pescador
Fishing is the focus, although we met people who were there only to scuba dive. We fished several successful days with a great guide. El Pescador is a lovely resort, but the best part about it is the staff, which catered to our every need. The women in the office were cheery and helped us arrange various activities such as reef fishing, sunset cruises, diving and snorkeling. The manager, Ken, and his wife, Ann, greeted us on arrival and made sure that everything went smoothly. Isa, the fly fishing instructor, gave lessons every day from 3:00 to 5:00 and is a miracle worker. The food was wonderful. A lovely vacation!

This was my fourth time to visit here. Brought the wife because she loves to fish as much as me. When you step off the boat, they immediately address you as family. We are foodies and the food is AMAZING!!! With El Pescador, all you do is tell them when you want to be there and what you want to do. The handle it all . The only thing you have to do is get to Belize City. Fishing is always amazing and the staff has been the same for ever. It's home to them and they make it home for you.

Our family chose El Pescador Lodge to celebrate Thanksgiving, a birthday and 2 anniversaries all in 5 days. Not to mention the amazing fishing and snorkeling we enjoyed! Each day was wonderful in every way. The staff made us feel so welcome, the food was absolutely fantastic. Everyone is invested in assuring that you have everything you need and that your well taken care of! The lodge rooms are spotless and comfortable. The dinner meal was a great opportunity to enjoy the other guests and learn about the adventures of the day! We will return again and again.

El Pescador Fishing Lodge & Villas is a one stop shop for all travelers & fisherman alike. During our time there we met serious anglers to people staying for their honeymoon with no intentions to fish. El Pescador welcomes you at the airport with easy transportation & a beautiful boat ride to the dock. There you are welcomed by staff and given a tour of the facility along with information about the local town. We spent 3 days of fishing and riding our bikes into town every afternoon to explore San Pedro. Something that makes this place special is the family atmosphere. Family dinner every night at 6:45 was an incredible way to meet new people, hear fishing stories, and just share time in community. If I had to come up with a complaint for this place, it would be they added a few inches to my waistline! The food was incredible, fresh, and always different. I would recommend this to anybody & everybody!
This is a fabulous vacation spot! The staff is attentive to all of your needs and will know your name immediately. All of the food and drinks were delicious and well presented. Our fishing guide Gordy was the best!
