It had been three years since we were at El Pescador, the flats fishing mecca near San Pedro, in Belize. The staff has always been delightful, and still is. The food was always okay, but now it is much better, with more flavor, better ingredients, new recipes and more variety. The rooms have been enlarged, with chic bathrooms and fresh decor. There is a now an outdoor dining room that accommodates about 50. The fishing is great. The fishermen and fisherwomen caught dozens of bonefish, and even a permit. Scuba diving -- always good -- has been outsourced to an excellent and meticulous operator. In the afternoon from 3 to 5, there are ample free appetizers and most cocktails are complimentary. Best of all, this all-inclusive resort is not over-priced. One little nit. The pool, which I think used to be heated, is a bit chilly.

My wife and I visited Belize in March and spent 6 days at El Pescador Resort. We had a wonderful time and can't say enough good things about the Resort, staff, and guides. The staff was like family and the accommodations and meals were outstanding. I enjoyed three great days of fishing. My guide was outstanding. Meeting and getting to know the other guests staying at the Resort was a real treat too. We really enjoyed the entire experience and plan to return.

El Pescador is a family friendly fishing lodge. Excellent accommodations, good food and a very friendly staff. The fishing guides were all very knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone caught fish. I recommend this flats fishing lodge for anyone from a beginner fly fisherman to the expert.

The best day on the water! Caught our first Permit and Bone Fish! We didn't stay at the lodge, but there is no doubt that you will not find a better fishing experience in Belize. Pro guides and a very informative staff made for a wonderful experience. I can't wait to come back for that Tarpin!!! If anything the only negative was being talked into purchasing a bunch of fly's and leaders that we didn't use. Then getting the cost refunded at the end of the day. A bit strange.

Beautiful location with great fishing and activities. Whether going single, with a group or with your family you will be delighted with their hospitality and vibe at the resort. Their fishing guides are top notch and strive to fulfill your fishing wishes. There are also many other things to do on your days off or for the non fisher. Will be booking another trip with EL Pescador for certain.
