I had a great room, the view was nice. My check in by Dedria Fancy was great. Very personal, gave lots of suggestions for dinner on and off property. Smiled, very helpful whenever I came to the desk to ask question. She was such a joy being the 1st person to interact with. I missed seeing her on checkout.

My wife and I recently stayed at this fabulous resort. The entire staff was very accommodating and responsive to any request we had. For example, it was very windy during our stay. The door to our room was making a terrible whistling noise like there was a blizzard trying to get into our room! On our way to dinner, I mentioned this problem to a staff member who was walking by our room. They said they would mention it to "engineering". After we returned, no more whistling noise!! The maintenance department had replaced the weather strip at the bottom of the door! I certainly didn't expect that to happen, at least not until the next day. Our entire stay at the Omni was excellent. Two restaurants on the property, Bob's Steak and Chop House and the Verandah are not to be missed! Bob's serves only Prime steaks and has an extensive wine list. The Veranda....ya gotta have the Grouper!! I don't think I've ever had a grouper prepared quite this way and sooo good! The crabmeat stuffing on top could have been a meal in itself. Our dessert....French press coffee served in a double walled stainless steel carafe. Ice cream served in a frozen goblet that had to weigh a couple of pounds when empty. The service at both of these establishments was 5 star. I would suggest an early evening reservation. I could say a lot more about the hotel and its amenities but, in my opinion, one of the best things going for it is it's Concierge, Kinnon. This young lady is not only very knowledgable about the local area and places of interest but will also effortlessly hook you up with where you want go, where (and what) you want to eat and ANYTHING else you might need. I mentioned I needed to get some golf socks. Without me asking, she called the pro shop where I was going to play and had my socks waiting for me when I got there. Once you check into the hotel make sure to stop by her office. You'll be glad you did!! When (not if) you go to this resort make sure to check out the Cumberland Island boat tour (2 1/2 hrs). This was just another one of the things that Kinnon arranged for us. If you have the time, this is a great adventure to go on! The trip is narrated the entire time and you are given a detailed history of Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach and Cumberland Island. And yup, you'll probably see some wild horses!!

Restaurant set up is awful. Need to either take a shuttle or have two choices. One is outside, other is bar food. Really big place so crowded at valet and check-in. Very difficult to find my room. Not a “user friendly” restaurant as a single woman. Don’t do it! Bottom line…I could put up with the above if my restaurant was “on campus”. Will not return. Not worth the money.

Nice but needs updating

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

The hotel property is beautiful but the rooms need to be updated. The rooms lack certain amenities to make it an enjoyable stay. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were very good. However we have NEVER stayed at a beach front resort that charged for the use of lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach......Ridiculous! Typically we very much enjoy our stays with Omni Hotels and Resorts.
