Reviews for Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort

Overall Poor Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

The property is certainly not worth the exorbitant price they charge. The rooms are very dated and poorly appointed. The constant noise from the floor above made us feel as though they were doing construction 24 hours a day. The property overall needs a refresh, including all the common areas, fitness center and the restaurants. Additionally, the staff was unprofessional and unfriendly. We arrived after 5 pm and were told our room was not available. 50 minutes later we received a room key and the room we were given was not the same room-type or view that we reserved. Upon calling the front desk we were told that since we were with a conference the hotel reserves the right to put you in any available room, with no regard for the room type or location reserved. The restaurants on property are sub-par. In the future, I will choose to stay at the Ritz just a few miles away, as the price per room is not substantially more, and the property is far superior in every regard.

Wonderful venue. Friendly staff.. The only negative is when ordering a cab back to the airport be careful. I was charger $90 plus tip. The Uber to the hotel from the airport was only $63.00 includng the tip. I was told Uber is hard to get from the hotel. It felt like a ripoff.

Beautiful Location!

Visited the Omni for business and was only there for one night so didn't get to explore much, but it's a beautiful setting! Had dinner at the Falcon Nest, which is a military aviation-themed bar/restaurant. GREAT food, and the waitress, Cassandra, was outstanding!

A visit to Amelia Island

The staff at this hotel are all wonderful. They all try very very hard in spite of some of the hotels limitations. The pool area is exceptional. It’s huge. There’s plenty of seating and the staff by the pool work incredibly hard. The issue has to do with the check-in process and the fact that we had booked a king size bedroom four months ago, and yet there was no room with the king size bed when we arrived.we got a lot of apologies but no attempt to make it right. The dining is fine. The beach is exceptional. They just have to work a little harder and being able to deal with a full crowd when the hotel is super busy.

Disappointed.

The phone was full of static. The noise machine provided didn't work. The internet seemed not to be connected more than it was. The breakfast buffet was sub-par, especially for a place of that caliber (and expense). The noise from the pool music and bar were bothersome in our room until 10 every night. Paid for an experience the Omni didn't deliver.
