Reviews for The College Hotel
Ok I’m a diva. I like nice hotels and service but I also hate to be ripped off. I was traveling with friends and forgot to book my hotel. They were staying at the conservatorium hotel in Amsterdam. They were booked so the hotel referred me here. I wanted to be in the Museum district near my friends. The college is two long blocks from the Van Gough museum. A 10 min walk. I got a rate of 240 on an internet site and took it. The hotel is in a lovely restored old building. The room was spacious with huge windows, a fridge, a nesspresso machine and a lovely bathroom. Unfortunately they forgot to put soap in the bathroom. It only had 2 guest floors. I was given a room on the front of the building which was very noisy. The garbage trucks arrived at 6 am. There was also no one to help me with my bags upon check in. Request a room off the street and schleep your own bags for 240! Check the bathroom upon arrival! Definitely worth the price though.
We had an extremely comfortable stay at this lovely hotel. 5 minutes walk from some of the best museums and galleries in the world. The room was really quirky clean and cosy. We were given camomile tea bags and a short letter with tips for things to do the next day. It was our wedding anniversary and we came back to find little cakes, flowers and a charming note from the staff. Often it is the little things that make the big difference. We were very happy there and would highly recommend it!
Lovely, stylish hotel with nice bar, restaurant, lounge, upmarket feel. Good transport links or walking distant to museums. Friendly helpful staff. Probably not so suited for young children although stayed here with teenage daughter who enjoyed the stay.

Location of this hotel is excellent. Service the worst of any hotel I have ever stayed in. No one knows what they are doing! Coffee machine broken: Orders for food ignored and need to be repeated and repeated.... I understand it is a training hotel but I could not see any training!!! Would not recommend!

This hotel works very well for a family. Excellent location, beautiful common areas, very good breakfast and helpful staff. We would come back again! The room was nice looking and the bed was very very comfortable. They will also rent you bikes.
