Reviews for NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky
This hotel is in a classy older building but it has been very tastefully modernized inside. The location is as central as you can get. Right on Dam Square and lots of sights within walking distance. The train station is only a 10 minute walk away. The lobby and common areas are very clean and well decorated. Our room was beautiful and spacious. It faced an inner courtyard and was very quiet. The breakfast buffet is served in a grand hall with glass ceilings. Very nice setting each morning. The service there each morning was excellent, especially Jocelyn and Rosanna, who were very pleasant and extremely responsive. All in all, we greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

I don't leave a lot of reviews, but I had to leave one for NH Krasnapolsky, Amsterdam. Our family recently stayed for 6 nights. Hotel is in the best location, easy access to everything on foot. The best thing about the hotel was it's professional and kind staff. Our flight arrived at 10am but our check-in host, Melanie, was able to give us our rooms early. My husband had a medical emergency and the evening security staff, Mr. Sander, called paramedics to come and tend to my husband. We are from the US and without Mr. Sander's quick response, I don't even want to imagine what would have happened. Thank you so much Mr. Sander and to everyone at NH Krasnapolsky for treating your guests with compassion!

Referred to informally as the Kras, this is a 451-room five-star hotel. It's in an old building (c.1865) with modern interiors. Part of the NH Collection group. The Kras is in arguably the best possible central-city location in Amsterdam, overlooking Dam Square. Shopping and eateries of all sorts are within strolling distance. It’s on the tram routes, and has easy access to museums, art galleries and other tourist attractions. We had a comfortable, tastefully-decorated, air-conditioned room with a large bed. No street, traffic or other noises. The bathroom has a large shower, a luxurious supply of towels and gowns, but no bath. High-quality guest supplies and toiletries are provided. There is strong, free wifi. The room is equipped with a coffee machine, ‘fridge, kettle and large flat-screen TV with an extensive bouquet of channels (55). The service seems efficient and friendly, save for our check-in, for which we had to queue for at least 20 minutes; irksome when you’ve just arrived off a 16-hour flight, and curious, given that it took place around midday, rather than at a peak time. …

The rates are quite expensive at this hotel but worth it when you consider the location. It's central enough that you can walk to most places or to public transport and all the restaurants are at your doorstep. It's always very busy at the hotel so check in was a long process. Our room had a great view of Dam Square and a clever work space behind the bed head which allowed me to work on my laptop. The mattress and pillows are one of the most comfortable we've had and the breakfast spread is very good. On one of the mornings we were having trouble getting internet access to book a tour in Russia that only had two places left so I went down with my laptop to get some assistance. The older man at Concierge rudely brushed me off because it was busy and he turned to serve someone else. This was really insulting and we ended up losing the booking. We didn't realise Concierge Services were conditional, that they could choose when and who to offer services to. The location and facilities are great but their service leaves a lot to be desired. Considering the number of people they check in every day they should allocate more staff to check in guests and provide Concierge Services.
