Reviews for Finca Cortesin Hotel Golf & Spa
So much to say about this stop which was not planned but, a wonderful experience in every department. Whatever is 'your bag' you will find it here and highly recommended but my wife particularly the spa! From my point of view, fantastic but make sure you have room on your credit card!

Outstanding in every way. If you can afford it, book now. Food amazing Service spectacular Rooms beautiful and spacious Brief I know but there is nothing more to say other than just outstanding. Oh...just one thing...if you aren't going with children expect to have to listen to quite a lot of noise around the main pool. Fear not as there is an adult pool but it isn't quite as beautiful as the main one.

We were hopeful to be able to spend a memorable long weekend at the Finca Cortesin, which we had planned as a special treat for our 10-year wedding anniversary. Certainly when you look at the website and the promotional video you would be led to believe this is like heaven on earth. I wouldn't even argue against the fact that this is a stunning property, which is finished to the highest level of quality, from the well-manicured gardens, large and beautifully-designed bedrooms with Lefroy Brooks bathroom fittings, and Penhaligon toiletries to wallpapering throughout most of the property, as well as expensive tapestry and furniture. Breakfast is served at its El Jardin de Lutz restaurant, where you will be served a fixed set of courses including cold cuts (cheese, ham), a fruit platter, bread basket along with a choice of cooked items. There are are two outdoor pools - one Olympic size in the adults-only area - as well as an indoor which also links to the spa and gym. Should you wish to be near the beach, the Finca Cortesin provides a complimentary bus shuttle that takes you to its exclusive beach club. Unfortunately it is precisely upon leaving the compound that you realise that this level of luxury is too high a price to pay for the privilege of being in a bubble. It is embarassing and also painful to admit that we paid nearly a thousand Euros per night, because nothing on the entire coastal stretch from Malaga all the way to Estepona could be considered a beautiful, lush landscape, but instead a dry and arrid terrain full of concrete buildings as far as the eye can see. Towns are centres for mass and budget tourism with little care for cleanliness and sanitation as streets were littered with rubbish and dog excrement. With limited dining options available, we felt compelled to eat mostly at the hotel where among the cheaper options on offer was a bowl of pasta for about 16 Euros at Don Giovanni's. It seems other value-conscious guests felt the same so this restaurant was very popular and booked well in advance. However, if you chance upon a walk-in, you will be refused a table within the courtyard and instead given a table inside even though there were visibly free tables that stayed unoccipied even after we had finished eating. And for our wedding anniversary dinner at El Jardin, my meal was ruined by a chef who went salt-crazy on my fish. Fortunately, the head waiter had the courtesy not to charge us. If you happen to be one of the many guests of this hotel for whom money is not an object, then by all means go and stay here. Sadly for us, what was meant to be memorable event turned out to be a forgettable one. The luxuries offered to guests can quite frankly be easily found at other hotel properties at half the cost, and most importantly, you simply cannot replicate with human hands the beauty found in nature, which should be free and found in so many other parts of the world. We would neither return to this hotel, nor the Costa del Sol, which we have humorously dubbed the "Costa del Grime".

This is a stunning hotel & spa resort that exuberates perfection when it comes to design, architecture, landscaping, etiquette and first class customer service. I was there for the spa facilities and treatments, and was made to feel like a very special guest of honor. I would highly recommend this amazing experience, its a special treat you will never forget.

Having visited Finca Cortesin twice now, it is without doubt an amazing property that makes you glad to be alive! From driving into the main courtyard draped with colourful flowers, you are ushered to reception where all the staff appear to be (very friendly) catwalk models. We were then sent to the bar whilst our room was being prepared and given drinks and some light nibbles. On-site there are two outdoor adult pools, a children's outdoor pool and an indoor pool. Poolside there is a restaurant and bar offering light snacks and lunch. The gardens are lush with flowers and perfectly maintained. The view of the sea over the gardens in the summer sun will leave you speechless - you will know you are in a great place. There is also a private beach club which is serviced by a hotel courtesy Mercedes and you can be there in 10 minutes. There are more pools there, a bar/restaurant and of course, the beach. Rooms are all very generously sized with lots of wardrobe space, well designed bathrooms with strong showers and living areas. In the evening there is live music and candles around the edge of the garden make it a magical setting as residents gather for after-dinner drinks with music. The main building is old world from outside but very stylish Spanish influence inside. All the restaurants offer excellent food choice and drinks menus. Don Giovanni was my favourite as you can eat dinner under the stars in the outside area. There is a good size gym with modern equipment which allows you to burn off a few calories (even for a few hours!) Service is impeccable and very thorough - I could not fault it. The General Manager was very visible and greeted us at check in and made sure to check on us throughout. This is not a lively, party place though there is a great vibe at the beach club. This is, however, a great place to visit if you want chill-out, serenity and space. The heat and quiet brings a calm that you will not get in a city centre. You could be a thousand miles from anywhere. The pace is relaxed and besides the gentle sound of other guests doing laps in the pool, all you will hear is distant chatter of other guests. Highly recommended!
