Surrounded by the captivating grandeur of the Swiss Alps, towering above the Andermatt Valley, The Chedi Andermatt combines alpine serenity with the timeless elegance of a luxury ski holiday. As the first Swiss property belonging to the GHM collection, classic and contemporary come together at The Chedi Andermatt in every detail; from superlative service to world-class dining. Warm wooden details and natural stone create intimate, yet visually striking interiors from the sleek lobby to the lavish accommodations. Drawing inspiration in part from the Asia-based GHM brand, the sprawling complex features 102 well-appointed guestrooms and suites with unique alpine touches. Bold textures and colors create sultry atmospheres where dark wood floors contrast with supple leather chairs and plush, over-sized bedding. Heated stone floors lead the way to pristine bathrooms where you may linger aprés-ski in the deep soaking tubs, or bask under the waterfall from the sumptuous rain shower. The crisp mountain air envelops you on the outside terrace as the breathtaking panoramic views offer a glimpse of the luxury that awaits both in and out of The Chedi Andermatt.

We stayed here with our friends and spent around £30,000 (thirty thousand) between us for. Five day stay. Besides for being overly expensive there was a series of mistakes that was simply unacceptable. The concierge made fundamental errors and did note take ownership of the problem. To make things worse the remedy offered was incendiary and in real terms quite pathetic. The manager is a nice guy who is relatively new to the establishment and it was evident he had his hands full, however what took place after we left was utterly astonishing. We all know that Hotels need to block payments on the payment type, debit or credit card, however what this hotel did to both travelling parties was either gross negligence or simply pay back for complaining. In a nutshell they took double payments against both parties cards, which were only released three weeks after we visited. Our card providers/banks had never experienced anything like it and after much intervention and serious concern we eventually received our money back. There were the usual “apologies” and sincerest “ won’t happen again” but nothing else. If you want a high quality experience choose a different hotel or resort, Andermatt simply does not have the infrastructure or service levels and it certainly doesn’t have a hotel to support what one needs. In short stay away, and spend your money more wisely with people who care and know what they are doing…… As we say, people vote with their feet and ours will never cross there threshold again.

Our recent stay was unfortunately a letdown, especially considering the high price tag associated with the experience. This was our second visit to the hotel. The issues encountered during our previous stay were disappointingly prevalent once again. Upon arrival, the reception area seemed disorganized, with guests left standing in queues. Another issue is the exorbitant prices charged for food at the hotel and extra wishes at breakfast are incurred with extra charges. Staff at restaurants are however generally very friendly and forthcoming. The indoor pool is not adequately heated. Additionally, the outdoor pool being uncovered means that guests are left exposed to the elements, resulting in an unpleasant experience in such weather. On multiple occasions, our fresh towels placed at the entrance to the outdoor pool were inadvertently taken by other guests, prompting us to hurriedly retreat indoors without a towel. Furthermore, the staff at the reception desk is uninformed. Upon enquiring about their outside disco we were given inaccurate information that the event was for staff only. Later, we discovered that this was not the case, highlighting a lack of communication and knowledge among the staff. In conclusion, my recent stay left much to be desired. The high prices coupled with subpar amenities and services failed to justify the overall experience. I hope that the hotel management takes note of these shortcomings and works towards improving the quality of service provided to guests in the future.

Stayed here for two nights at the end of June and have nothing but great things to say. We rented a car to drive all the Swiss passes and it was the perfect home base in the area for us. Charming. Great architecture. Great interactions with staff and a very welcoming environment. During our visit it was not very crowded and that added to the experience for us. My wife regards it as her favorite hotel she’s yet to visit. Nothing but great things to say. Strongly recommend.

Chedi's atmosphere is one of aesthetics, design, taste, quietness and unequaled service. The spa and gym are top notch with a + for water therapy. The restaurants offer super Thaï, Chinese and Japanese delicacies breakfast being outstanding. Chedi's wine list, although universal, is very deep in Swiss wines, particularly whites: real treasures are to be found v.g. completers, heidas etc... Add to that, the exquisite cigar room/library with its low-tuned Cuban music: an OASIS of peace !

I was so excited to finally try this hotel and it did not disappoint! The architecture and design are simply stunning, every area has a unique sense of drama, it is both modern and warm, and feels so atypical for Switzerland when compared to all the other grand hotels here. The rooms are designed in the Japanese style and are positively enormous! Huge closets, huge bathrooms, everything is oversized and yet so comfortable. Food is fabulous no matter where you eat, the cocktails are inventive, and a visit to the cheese cave in the Restaurant is a must! The town itself of Andermatt is small and quiet, but there is a ton of construction and I can see this will be the next “it” place in a few years once it’s completed, so do yourself a favor and go now while this little mountain hideaway is still under the radar…. I will definitely be back!
