Extremely Disappointing Experience at Aurora Anguilla (Merrywing Side) traveling with 5 and 3 year old for waterpark: I recently spent five nights at Aurora Anguilla on the Merrywing side of the resort, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below what I would expect from a property that claims to be an LVX and 5-star hotel. 1. Non-existent service The service was shockingly poor. Most staff members did not greet guests, did not say good morning, or offer basic hospitality. Instead, they often stared as we walked by. There was no warmth, attentiveness, or sense of genuine service anywhere on the property. I do want to say that Justin Time and the shuttle drivers were really friendly. 2. Kids’ water park issues & lack of seating The kids’ water park/splash pad has no regular seating available for parents unless they pay $450 for a cabana. With no lounge chairs or shaded options, parents are left standing or literally sitting on the ground—I ended up sitting on the waterpark floor (see photo). Not a single family was using a cabana, yet on one occasion 8–10 staff members were hanging out inside them and relaxing, which was incredibly unprofessional and frustrating (see photo). 3. Excessive and unreasonable rules The number of unnecessary rules at the waterpark is overwhelming. I have children ages 5 and 3 and I was not allowed to accompany them in the water. Staff constantly reprimanded kids for extremely minor things. For example: my son went down a slide on his belly and was told he could not use it anymore. My husband tried to accompany him on another slide and was also scolded. It created an unwelcoming and stressful atmosphere for families. 4. Poorly maintained grounds and unsafe facilities The grounds are not well maintained and lack the polish you’d expect from a luxury resort. Many common areas—including the kids’ club and even the elevators—have no air conditioning. It felt unsafe to leave children in the kids’ club due to the heat; overheating is a real concern. There is potential for nice landscaping and grounds but we noticed lots of weeds, not proper maintenance of a 5 start property. We tried to take a walk around the property after sun down but the campus is not well lit as lots of lights were out. 5. Not suitable for young families This resort is simply not ready for young families. During our entire stay, we saw maybe five families on this enormous property. The experience overwhelmingly reflects a focus on golf. We then realized that the kids splash pad/water park is relatively new. 6. Empty campus with disengaged staff Very few families with young children on this resort. Maybe 3-5 families? Despite the lack of guests, the campus was full of employees—but not in a helpful way. Instead of engaging with visitors, most employees were clustered together, chatting with each other while paying little attention to guests. The combination of an empty-feeling resort and uninterested staff created an atmosphere that felt awkward, neglected, and far from luxurious. ⸻ Overall, this resort does not deliver a 5-star experience and is nowhere near the level of service, comfort, or professionalism found at true luxury properties like the Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons. I will also be sharing my review with LVX, as this facility should not be one included. Our stay was deeply disappointing, and I would not recommend Aurora Anguilla to families expecting a genuine high-end resort experience.

We recently stayed at the resort with a large group of pickleball players from Naples, Florida, arriving via a private charter jet from November 6th to 10th. Overall, our experience was fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our group feel very welcome. We especially enjoyed the one-bedroom suite (which we upgraded to) featuring the outdoor shower and two balconies—it was perfect for our stay. The food at every location was consistently fresh and delicious. Compared to other resorts we have visited on nearby islands, your resort offers wonderful value and amenities. We stayed in the Rendezvous Beach section and appreciated the super staff, great food, and excellent location. As an added tip for future guests, we noticed that gratuity and breakfast were included in our room rate, which was a pleasant surprise. Also, the famous music bar, Bankie Banx, where Jimmy Buffet has played, is conveniently located right next door, and the Sunshine Shack is a great walk for lunch or dinner along the beach. We did want to provide a couple of constructive suggestions. It would be very helpful if the resort offered a guest laundry area, even a small one, for washing bathing suits or sports clothes (like golf or pickleball attire). Additionally, while the pickleball courts were plentiful, we felt they could have been prepped a bit better for our group's daily use. The golf course we played twice was well maintained and beautiful. I would suggest to bring your own golf glove and balls. The complimentary golf clubs were very good and new. We were impressed how clean and gorgeous the beach was, pools and landscaping. Keep up the wonderful work Aurora! Looking forward to our stay next year!

This was our third straight November staying at Aurora. My family loves everything about it: the location, the beach, the waterpark, the food and most IMPORTANTLY- THE STAFF. Everyone is so lovely. I genuinely look forward to my conversations with them each time we visit. From Jocelyn, Sammaro, Natalie in the morning at Chef's Table, to Sherman at Tokyo Bay and Keemi at the beach, Teneysha (sp) at Waterpark and Justin Time who is literally everywhere! We were lucky to get upgraded to our usual spot in Rendezvous Beachfront double and loved being on the second floor since you have a shaded balcony. We traveled with our two boys ages 10 and 13. They love the waterpark, especially the lazy river and enjoy running along Rendezvous Bay in the afternoons. We always end up at sunshine shack for a few frozen drinks. We are already booked for next November. Aurora is the best in every way.
