The Best!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My family and I just got back from another unforgettable vacation at the Aurora. This was our second time staying at the resort. From the moment we arrived, Justin Time, the hotel ambassador, welcomed us with his awesome energy and smiles. I suggest getting to know Justin! He works very hard at making sure every guest feels special during their visit. He’s the best! My husband and I traveled with our two sons (ages 5 and 7) for a 7-night stay. We stayed on the Rendezvous side in an ocean view suite which is the perfect amount of space for a family of four. The views of the ocean are beautiful! We truly enjoyed waking up in paradise each and every morning. Shout out to the amazing housekeeping team! The resort has so much to offer. The water park is a blast! The food on the property is delicious, as well as the cocktails and frozen drinks. :) Thank you to Samaro, Shaday, Kevin, and Chadwick for adding fun times and conversation - who all made our stay even more enjoyable! If you are thinking about whether this resort is the right place for you, please do not think any further, just book it! The Aurora is a special place and we cannot wait to return again next year.

Aurora Experience

We just returned from our 2nd annual family vacation to the Aurora and are already planning to return next year. We love everything about Anguilla, and that charm and hospitality is magnified at the Aurora. First impressions are everything. Before we even got out of our taxi my kids (ages 5 and 7) were screaming “Justin Time” who was there to greet us with hugs. Justin is the hotel ambassador who we stay in touch with throughout the year. He is so personable and made sure everything was perfect; from daily check ins to helping with our excursions and reservations, we felt a part of the Aurora family. Shout out to Samaro, Chadwick, Shadae, Keila, Kevin, and everyone else who made our stay so memorable. The waterpark is a huge hit. Unlike most waterparks at resorts, there are plenty of chairs to sit and relax. The bar is great too. My only suggestion is that the waterpark could use a hot tub. The food is great as well. We love to eat off the property at local restaurants (Vincy’s, Sandbar, Tasty’s, Blanchard’s) are some of our favorites, but the Thursday night lobster buffet and Tokyo Bay were hits on this trip. Rendezvous Bay is magnificent. Make sure to stop by Dune Preserve to hear the legend Bankie Banks play some tunes. The live music is terrific on Anguilla. We got to see Omari Banks and his daughters play together. Omalie 360 at the 4 seasons is a vibe too! Can’t wait to return to the Aurora!

Aurora checks all of the boxes for a great family beach vacation on Anguilla

We recently stayed at Aurora for a full week for spring break - and for our family with middle-school aged children, it was an excellent choice. The top line summary is that Aurora is a very nice, light-luxury family resort, particularly if you stay on the Rendezvous Beach suites. The rooms are spacious and high-quality, the amenities and activities for a family are outstanding, the staff are very good, the beach and sea are beautiful, the grounds are appealing, and the food is generally good. The entire operation is quite large with a large staff - so you will not get Four Seasons levels of pampering and service but the cost difference is substantial and Aurora's vibe is so much more relaxed and the service on the whole is very good (the few weak points here and there are offset by the truly exceptional staff, which there are many). Despite its physical size, Aurora's total room counts are not high - so it always feels spacious and relaxed, and available for your family to enjoy. We had a great week. A few notes for more detail - if being at the beach is a priority for you (you're on Anguilla!), the Rendezvous side is vastly superior. The beach suites are very good - we concluded that the 2nd floor was best and buildings 6 - 8 were ideal (1 -5 are by the restaurant and 9 and 10 have the path that the beach staff use vehicles on and that makes noise in the morning). Being in the beach suites has you steps away from the beach, allowing you to easily go out and speak with the beach staff to get set-up on preferred beach lounges for the day (they were always able to get you set-up, there's plenty of beach, but going out early - like between 8 and 9 to get set-up was ideal). The sea was perfect during our stay, and we enjoyed walking down to the Sunshine Shack (classic Caribbean beach bar and grill a few hundred yards down the beach on Rendezvous Bay) for lunch a couple of times instead of eating on the resort. BUT we still spent plenty of time over on the Merrywing side, at the water-park/activity-park, and in Merrywing's larger and more lively pool area (the Merrywing beach was not appealing when we went there, but the Merrywing beach restaurant Breezes is quite good and better than the Rendezvous beach restaurant C-Level). The two sides are separated by the golf course so you cannot and would not want to walk but don't worry about this - the ride is about 6 or 7 minutes between the two and the resort has shuttle vans running regularly. We never waited more than a few minutes for a shuttle, which made it nice to run over to the water park for a while in the afternoon after being at the beach. One note to management: the "no drinks" policy on the lazy river is soooo unfortunate! Come on. The steakhouse D'Richards is a nice setting at the golf club and was fairly good (the picanha was a favorite), the beach lobster BBQ on Thursday night was quite an event and very fun, and the pizza at Breezes was surprisingly excellent. Also have to give credit to Aurora's bartenders - they're outstanding, high-skill! You can tell the resort grows its own vegetables and herbs. But going off-resort for meals is a great way to see Anguilla, very safe, and highly recommended. Aurora's concierge and guest services team do a very good job with arrangements, taxis, etc. - highly reliable. I don't think there's anything else that can come close to offering what you get at Aurora. They even had a Queen cover-band at the amphitheater (which is very good if you get a chance to go) when we were there - how great is that?

Aurora is a great place for families just trying to relax and have fun. The workers are great especially Justin Time, Kevin, Chadwick, samaro, kiarie, Kim, jevante, shaq, Elbort and everyone else who works at the resort. Justin Time is never late, never early, he met us at the airport and is always around to help you with anything you need. Thanks Aurora we will see you next year!

Fabulous family vacation

Just checked into Aurora, to say it’s beautiful would be an understatement! I have very high standards lol I am someone who has been Zemi Beach once and Cap Jaluca four times in the past five years .I didn’t know what to expect. Aurora is just beautiful. All of the people we have encountered have been lovely friendly and incredibly helpful in wanting to make this a special trip for us! When I texted with the Concierge and requested a case of Fiji water in our room, it was there waiting for us when we got there. No detail left unchecked ! They even decorated our beachfront suite with birthday balloons for me! The grounds are beautiful and the room would be comparable to Cap. . We are in a walkout king size on rendezvous Bay. Our children were in the tower on the Merrywing side. What really makes this Resort stand out is the staff ! They go out of their way to make you feel like family and friends. So besides an impeccable resort that is spectacular on a bay that is just one of the most beautiful in the world. You have a warm welcome everywhere you turn!
