Reviews for Malliouhana

Fantastic experience

My husband and I were burned out from work and desperately needed a vacation where we could truly relax and just enjoy being in a beautiful place. This was our first time in Anguilla and I'm so glad we splurged to stay at Malliouhana-- it was so worth it and I would definitely go back. The location on the hilltop has stunning picture-postcard views and is in walking distance to several great restaurants. The property itself is so beautifully designed with lush gardens, gorgeous artwork and spacious rooms. Both the beach and the pool were perfectly relaxing spaces. I had asked for a quiet room, and we were given a great ocean-view room within a small villa conveniently in between the main building and Meads beach. Live music always ended by 9 or 10 each night so that I fell asleep hearing only the sound of waves, and we didn't mind the short walks to the beach or pool. As some other reviews note, if you have mobility issues, you can take advantage of the bell service to cart you down to the beach (or book a beach-front room and get carted uphill to the pool/restaurants). We were very happy with the food: Celeste for breakfast twice, a lunch at Leon's and a lunch and two dinners at Bar Soleil. The brisket tacos and flatbread at the bar were especially good. The servers were all friendly but food service did prove to be very slow at all of the resort restaurants. We had breakfast twice at Straw Hat down the beach (borrowing the resort bikes was very convenient to get there) where food was just as good and service time much faster. The bell service carted us to dinners at Blanchards and Jacala. The concierge and front desk staff were very helpful with restaurant reservations and getting us a taxi for a day trip to Crocus Bay. Everyone was professional and friendly. We especially appreciated the daily greetings from Kevan, the most cheerful person we've ever met, and Shanika's nightly turn-down treat deliveries. The beach staff were also fantastic. We never had to worry about getting beach loungers, and were attentively taken care of when we wanted to try kayaking. We also enjoyed the free rum and chocolate tasting and Taco Tuesday events. I would guess that the hotel was mostly full while we were there, and yet because of the layout, it never felt crowded. We saw plenty of kids, so it must be family-friendly, yet still felt calm and peaceful. We definitely feel rejuvenated, and only wish we could have stayed longer!

Great location. The best beach (liked it better than the four seasons). Great food and staff were lovely. Rooms were great. We did the corner balcony. Amazing views. Hotel is great size. Not too crowded but good atmosphere. We will definitely be returning

Great location but I don't want to write a review at the moment. I think I have to fill all this out to submit the survey the hotel asked me to fill out. I will wait on resolution of my issues before writing a review

Classy, refined, elegant, authentic with a Haitian art collection to adore. 70's architecture meets art deco with playful colours of candy stripes. leon's beach club is great. The pools are both stunning being perched on top of a headland. A private beach and the expanse of Mead's Bay. You will not be disapointed. Great staff! So friendly, attentive and courteous.

Beautiful water.

Excellent resort. The food was exceptional. Distance to the beach was a little far and water was a little rough 3 out of the 4 days.
