Reviews for Hotel Villa Michelangelo
This hotel is about 10-15 mins drive into the country so you do need a car. The public rooms are lovely, not sparking new but in keeping with the building. Our room was very comfortable (was lacking a robe but that was supplied very quickly). The female reception staff was very helpful. We did have a chat with her when we left about various points that we felt could have improved on - nothing major. It is a lovely place, but the snack/terrace menu needs to be enlarged as it is quite a trek at night to go into the town and eat - and the terrace view is so fabulous that it seems a shame to have to. Very quiet. Would recommend with a few reservations - but nothing major. Oh, ask for espresso coffee - the Americano is the old style filter!

Advantages : Good looking building from outside. Very nice view. The food from the restaurant is fine. Drawbacks : They do not stand by their words (be very careful to have multiple booking confirmation especially if you have a discount. You could arrive at the hotel to hear from them that your booked room has been taken... It happened for several people from our group). Poor service quality but we were numerous as we practically booked the full hotel. So we understood and accepted to wait for our orders at the bar or restaurant. Aging building and commodities. Some rooms are clearly not aligned with the luxury touch advertised. (Peeling paints, cracks, broken hairdryer, missing bath robes, dusty carpetting...). Several rooms does not have a view. Sometimes there is only a small window or only a small beam window (my case here). They obviously do not communicate about that, even by phone or email. To me the biggest drawback would be that if you discuss with them about the problems mentionned above, they absolutely could not care less... One couple complained for their double bedroom when they booked a three beds room. After trying to negociate with the management, they still had to pay for a 3 beds room. The only compensation they managed to get was free breakfasts... Which were already included... Brillant. Conclusion : I would suggest other hotels in the nearby area, unless you manage to obtain all warranties that they will provide what you expect when you book.
Stayed here 4 nights. Lovely building and gorgeous views, nice rooms and good pool. However, the hotel no longer provides the shuttle bus to Vicenza that they claim on website. No public bus - just taxi costing 15-20 euros each way to Vicenza which is a rip-off for the short trip. Service in restaurant very poor and the restaurant closed for dinner one night with no prior notice to guests. We had hoped for better as it is advertised as a luxury hotel.
I'm a hotelier from Indonesia with boutique resorts and given that we provide the finer, luxury items and services given our very expensive prices and our 5-star services, I am particularly fussy - not about receiving the same service as I don't have those expectations especially in places as unbelievably inexpensive as this hotel - but about who I do and don't review. From the moment I drove up the driveway my experience here (I'm currently in bed this morning, looking of my window over the beautiful rolling hills, with a steaming hot cup of Illy coffee) has been absolute magic. The service from EVERYONE has been exceptional - I'd employ each and every one of them in a minute! The room is beautiful, big and has a great bath with luxury spa amenities. The bed linen and pillows are faultless and, on my request, I was also provided with a standing fan which was a blessing during this current heatwave in Italy. I seriously had one of the best night's sleep I've had in years as incredible attention to detail made this possible - window shutters; double doors onto the corridor outside and the bed itself. The food in the restaurant is extraordinary - innovative, creative, beautifully balanced - and the wine list is a revelation. Service is impeccable, and all prices are extremely reasonable. Add to this the swimming pool, the setting and every possible attention to detail and to showcasing the beauty of this villa with fine decoration and style and I am only sorry I have to move on today. I also would like to take this opportunity (perhaps a bit arrogantly) to address some points made by the guest who chose to describe this place as terrible: THEM: (The whole place (rooms, pool, bar) looks tired & in need of attention) In fact future guests please note this place is exceptionally well-maintained. It is elegant and luxurious! THEM: Service was very slow due to lack of staff Given my experience there is no way we're talking about the same hotel!! The staff are efficient, warm and friendly THEM: menu is very limited (same for lunch & dinner) with everything leaning towards vegetarian (seafood but no meat available) and very disappointing) This is if you choose only to eat on the terrace you have a terrace menu. Also they showcase local produce and ingredients and the seafood and vegetables are amazing! And for the evenings - cough up a couple more euros and eat in the restaurant and have a truly gastronomic experience! The further stupid points made by this particular guest clearly indicate that this is not the kind of guest a hotel of this calibre needs! Thank you for such a wonderful experience - I am about to drag myself from my bed, put on my swimming costume, head for breakfast first, then a final swim before, sadly, I have to say goodbye to this amazing place!!! PS For coeliacs this hotel has gluten-free bread and gluten-free bread snacks for apero

We spent 2 nights in this gorgeous hotel just outside Vicenza and I must say it completely surpassed my expectations. It is beautifully decorated with wonderful views especially the swimming pool area. The staff were lovely. Vicenza certainly worth visiting.
