A) Our Irish coffees are to die for! Our eggs all come fresh daily from our own hens, the Arthurstown smoked salmon is to Kevin’s specific recipe and any of the fish, straight from those who fish all around the Hook Peninsula.
Q) What is the best time to travel to the Dunbrody?
A) Year round – winter is great for cozying up in front of open turf fires, lie-ins and spa pampering. Spring is really great too as our part of Ireland is a few weeks ahead of the rest. Spring is here by the end of February and the colour is truly wonderful in the garden then.
Q) Can you explain what makes the location/destination around your property appealing to travelers?
A) The Hook Peninsula is home to one of Europe’s oldest lighthouses where the public is welcome to join in tours of the lighthouse, walk the grounds and discover the 14 different beaches along this 15-mile stretch of land; numerous ruins, castles, abbeys are there to explore.
Staying for two nights was the perfect respite during our self-drive tour of Ireland. Our accommodations were spacious, service was attentive and menus were varied, savory and satisfying. We appreciated the calm tone of Dunbrody House and would book again.
