Best Honeymoon Spot there is!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Bucuti & Tara definitely pulled out all the stops to make our honeymoon incredible. The first class service from walking in the door, greeted with champange & a smile. Gave us a full tour of the resort, the views were breath taking. The King Suite Ocean view room was spacious, bed was so comfy and well laid out. The umbrellas on the beach are lovely, you flip up your flag for service is genius! Bucuti's staff are hands-down the best at customer service! They helped plan out our week, recommended the best excursions, where to go, what restaurants to try out and how to get around. I'd give this resort a 10/10 all around.

A wonderful stay at Bucuti and Tara

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My husband and I spent five luxurious nights at Bucuti and Tara. We stayed in an ocean front room on the third floor on the Tara side. From the moment we walked into the lobby, greeted by Nora and Linda, till the moment we left, we were pampered, spoiled, and treated like royalty. This was our first trip to Aruba but most definitely won’t be our last. The daily free breakfast was delicious and fresh every day. There were many items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, donuts, overnight oats, fruits, various breads, etc. There was also an omelet station with your choice of mix-ins, and a fresh made waffle station. They also had some specials each day such as croissant eggs Benedict and special coffees. The food was more than enough to get us through the day till dinner. And the wait staff at breakfast was amazing! The location of the resort on Eagle Beach was fantastic. On the days we explored other areas of Aruba such as Palm Beach, we realized how lucky we were to have chosen Eagle Beach. It was way less crowded and the beach was very deep and spacious. We watched the romantic movie on the beach which they offer on Saturday night on their giant screen while lounging on a very comfortable beach chair. The staff brought us fresh popcorn. It was very cool and we really enjoyed it! Our room was immaculate and the bed/pillows were extremely comfortable. The shower provided hot water on demand. The double sinks were very convenient making it a breeze for my husband and I to share the space easily. The sitting area and small kitchen area were very comfortable and convenient. Our view overlooked the ocean and the serene beach with all the simple, white umbrellas all lined up in perfect symmetry. One day we ordered chicken nuggets and fries on the beach. They came out quickly and were so fresh and hot. Our waiter, Kevin, was very nice and friendly. He offered recommendations of local restaurants upon our request. The housekeepers were extremely diligent and our room was cleaned immaculately every day. And on the day we left, they wrote a lovely farewell greeting on a mango leaf! We have traveled all over the world and it was a first for us. Very memorable! The resort was so intimate and romantic, making it the perfect location for our 39th anniversary celebration. We met many other guests who we enjoyed chatting with pool-side. Everyone we met was a returning guest. If we could offer any suggestions for improvements they would be: 1. Offer guests a wristband/room key. It would make it much easier than having to dig out your room key anytime you had to use the bathroom by the pool or just getting back into your room. 2. Find a better solution to booking the umbrellas/cabanas. As it is, you need to wait till 5 pm and use the IPad to look for the umbrella you want and keep pushing the button till you’ve reserved it. What happens if you’re not available at 5 pm to do this? Twice we had someone sitting in our spot. Didn’t want to cause a scene so we just went elsewhere. 3. Our romantic beach dinner at Elements was a let down. My husband’s steak was over done and my fish was cold and not fresh. I think the issue was timing. They want you to see the sunset of course but I think the food sat for a long while in the kitchen due to timing of sunset and steak got overcooked and fish got cold. We didn’t complain and the waiter was very sweet. It was just not up to our expectations. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Bucuti and Tara and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic stay in beautiful Aruba.

Five-star prices. Zero compassion when it actually mattered.

I rarely leave reviews like this, but I think prospective guests deserve to know how Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort treated us when our family experienced a genuine medical emergency. We had a trip to Aruba booked and fully intended to go for my birthday. Then my 46 year-old sister, who is battling Stage IV cancer, suffered a serious and completely unexpected complication and required emergency surgery. Obviously, I could not leave my sister and family during a crisis like this. I contacted Bucuti & Tara, explained the circumstances, and asked them to please work with us. We weren’t simply asking to cancel a vacation because our plans changed. My sister had Stage IV cancer and needed emergency surgery. Most importantly, we offered to reschedule the trip and come at another time. They refused, even with a physician’s letter explaining the situation. No refund. No credit. No opportunity to move our stay to another date. I fully understand that hotels have cancellation policies. What I cannot understand is a luxury resort choosing to hide behind a cancellation policy when presented with an extraordinary, documented family medical emergency—particularly when the guest is willing to reschedule rather than simply walk away from the reservation. There are policies, and then there is basic human compassion. We weren’t asking them to absorb the cost of a frivolous last-minute change. We weren’t asking for an upgrade or special treatment. We simply asked to move a vacation we could no longer take because I needed to be with my critically ill sister. They wouldn’t even do that. Anyone considering spending thousands of dollars on a stay here should keep our experience in mind. You may believe that if something truly catastrophic and unforeseeable happens to your family, a luxury resort will show some degree of flexibility or humanity. Our family learned the hard way that you should not count on it here. Beautiful resorts are easy to find in Aruba. Compassion, apparently, is harder to come by.
