Reviews for Coworth Park Hotel, Ascot

A beautiful hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

We visited Coworth for a double celebration - my ‘big’ birthday and our significant wedding anniversary. The hotel rooms are extremely comfortable and well thought-out. We appreciated our upgrade to the mansion building, as we found the stable room (which we started out in) to be rather noisy and overlooked. The mansion room had a glorious view of an ancient cedar tree. The hotel provided lots of lovely celebratory treats in our room including bubbly and balloons. What a wonderful surprise. We found the reception staff and porters to be very helpful. The spa was clean and peaceful with outdoor loungers where you could relax amidst lavender bushes. There was no jacuzzi but the steam room was great. The grounds, especially on a warm summers’ evening, were magical to stroll around. All that let down our stay was our experience at the Barn. We went there for both our evening meal and breakfast. Both times they got my order wrong. For dinner I’d ordered a medium-well steak and it was so well done that it was tough to eat. The service was rather piecemeal and no one came to check how our meal was - otherwise I might have been tempted to send it back. (The food had taken a little while to come, so we just wanted to eat at that point!) At breakfast I ordered a dish with no eggs and it came with eggs on it - this time I sent it back and they brought me the correct order. Given that it was our double celebration, we also expected someone amoungst the wait staff to acknowledge our celebration(s). No one mentioned it, even when I arrived at breakfast on the actual morning of my big birthday. The piecemeal service and lack of attention in the Barn didn’t match the excellent service we received in the rest of the hotel, including in the bar. It’s the only aspect of our stay that we were left underwhelmed by - and would possibly be the only barrier to us visiting again! All in all a gorgeous and well-run hotel but some room for improvement at the Barn!

Gorgeous property with stellar service

We enjoyed our third stay at this excellent and beautifully maintained property. Staff is all top-notch and strives to meet your every request, from noting and honoring my preference for a room on my preferred side of the main house, to enabling early check in when available, and making great restaurant recommendations--both the casual Barn and the tasting menu at Woven are excellent, but when I stay for several nights, I enjoy eating off property as well. The property provides a six star experience in every way. It is located at the base of Windsor Great Park, which provides easy access for some remarkable walks through the park. Depending on traffic, it is only about 20 minutes from Heathrow (closer than London), and I consider it a perfect location and experience to rest and rejuvenate while getting over jet lag during long distance travel. They add a 5% discretionary service charge to your bill, which covers all tipping--some people object to this, and if you do, they will remove it from your bill--but I find that it simplifies things as I don't need to tip everyone who provides a service. Coworth is Dorchester quality all the way, and I highly recommend it.

Jamie is a star.

We stayed at Coworth Park and it was such a beautiful Hotel with spectacular gardens in a lovely countryside setting. We arrived at just after 4pm and the door staff even though very busy were so warm and welcoming. The check in desk was extremely busy and were greeted by Jamie Fletcher one of the Managers. He could not have been more helpful, he explained everything the hotel had to offer, went through the different dining options and also when breakfast would be served. He was very knowledgeable about the local area and made some suggestions on places to visit and things to do. Jamie seemed to be everywhere during our stay, always smiling and going above and beyond. Sadly we didn't dine at the hotel apart from Breakfast which was lovely. We will be back for another visit soon, where we hope to stay for longer.

Beautiful Hotel, Disappointing Service – Not Quite the Dorchester Collection Standard

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Coworth Park is one of the most beautiful hotels in England, which makes the service shortcomings all the more surprising. Before arrival, my travel agent worked with the hotel to secure a wonderful room upgrade, and I am genuinely grateful for that. The room was stunning, the views were beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, and breakfast was excellent. The property itself is everything you would hope for from a luxury countryside retreat. Unfortunately, the service did not consistently match the quality of the hotel. The biggest disappointment was the spa. Several members of staff seemed uninterested in providing even basic hospitality. When I asked for some cold water, I was told that the water already sitting in the warm changing room was all that was available. A coffee appeared on my bill that I never ordered. When I asked for a bag to take my wet swimsuit home, the request was met with visible surprise, as though it were unusual. None of these issues are major on their own, but luxury hospitality is about anticipating needs and making guests feel cared for. That simply wasn't my experience. There were other moments that reinforced this feeling. The spa is equipped with Dyson hairdryers, while the rooms have older, bulky models that become extremely hot. I called reception to ask whether a Dyson could be sent to my room and was told no. A true luxury hotel should be looking for ways to accommodate reasonable requests. At comparable properties such as Four Seasons, staff often go out of their way to find solutions rather than defaulting to a refusal. One final point for future guests: carefully review your bill at checkout. An additional service charge had been added for staff gratuities despite the fact that I had already tipped staff directly in cash during my stay. I have no issue with service charges, but this should be clearly explained at checkout rather than quietly appearing on the final bill. What makes this review difficult to write is that the hotel itself is genuinely exceptional. The rooms, grounds, food and overall setting are easily five-star. However, luxury hotels are remembered for their people, and unfortunately the service culture felt noticeably below both the rates charged and the standards I associate with the Dorchester Collection. I would happily return for the property itself, but I hope management focuses more attention on service, because that is currently the weakest part of an otherwise beautiful hotel experience.

Our wedding at Coworth Park was nothing short of magical, and we cannot thank the entire team enough for creating a day that exceeded every expectation. From our very first visit through to the final moments of our wedding day, every member of the team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but the Coworth Park team made the entire experience feel effortless. Every request was handled with genuine care, and we always felt that our day was as important to them as it was to us. The venue itself is simply breathtaking. The beautiful grounds, elegant spaces, and luxurious surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Our guests were absolutely blown away by the setting and continue to tell us how incredible the venue was. What truly sets Coworth Park apart, however, is its people. A special thank you to Evie, Rickey,Rickey & Morgan & the entire events team, whose organisation, guidance, and support ensured everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. Their calm presence, meticulous planning, and willingness to go above and beyond allowed us to relax and fully enjoy every moment. We would also like to thank the catering and service teams, who were outstanding throughout the day. The food was exceptional, the service was impeccable, & every guest felt genuinely looked after. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The attention to detail was remarkable, from the perfectly prepared ceremony and reception spaces to the countless behind-the-scenes touches that made the day feel so special. It was clear that everyone involved took immense pride in delivering an unforgettable experience. Coworth Park gave us memories that will last a lifetime, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in making our wedding so perfect. If you are looking for a wedding venue that combines world-class service, stunning surroundings, and a team that truly cares, we could not recommend Coworth Park more highly. Thank you for making our dream wedding a reality & we will be returning here for our anniversary.
