I cannot explain how much this hotel exceeded expectations!! The staff, the setting, the room, the food, the golf buggy transport, the wine, EVERYTHING was top notch! I literally cannot wait to go back, but the prices are not for the faint-hearted! Worth every penny though! We WILL be back :-)

The rooms are very clean and modern, food and cocktails tasted fantastic. We would stay here again but have only one thing that did not make the stay perfect. I had two spa treatments and they got booked in straight after each other, the treatments were in the same room which was very warm- treatments also involved heat. At the end of the two hours when I sat up the dehydration hit me, my head was pounding and I felt very nauseous. Once we got back to the room I was very ill with dehydration and spent the night on the bathroom floor where it was cool with loads of water and cold towels for about three hours until I was hydrated again. There was no water in the treatment room so I would suggest having water in the rooms would be nice and if double appointments have to be booked a quick 5 minutes to hydrate and cool down in the relaxation room would be nice. Treatments themselves were very good. We would go back and recommend.

The interior is lovely the cottages are amazing. The food is horrible and tastes so so so bad. I've never been in a 5* hotel with such horrible food that we would go eat every meal except breakfast outside the hotel. I hope they change the main chef because it's been this bad for the last two years I've been visiting.

The hotel: ....is one true wow! Gobsmacked and in awe I was, by the sheer light in the hotel lobby. I had almost forgotten how wonderful it is to sit in a period style room, with its soaring ceilings, classical piano in the corner and listening to the birdsong outside, tinkling chinks of crystal champagne flutes of the guests. Such glorious setting no? I wasn't impressed by the gran spiraling staircase up two floors. The wood was light in color, modern and reminded me of those conference hall furniture - ghastly in other words, plus that red handrail. Complete eyesore in an otherwise perfect lobby. The room: ....is another visual result of whomever designed and decorated the whole lobby. In fact, it's so perfectly suited to my taste that I may just ask Dorchester to give the company of their interior designer to make my home look like this too! They had thought to place mirrors on the inside of the window shutters, so that the light is cleverly reflected inside and, although our room was east facing, there seemed to be endless daylight as the day drew to an unfortunate close (unfortunate as we were only there one night :-(). Not a fan of four poster beds because of the (imagined) weight of the bed-ceiling overhead, but one cannot deny the grandeur of having heavy, brocade bed drapes on the four bed posts! The furnishing in the room is very tasteful and classic, muted colours, lots of white and gold. The bathroom: ....has a copper bathtub!!! A copper freestanding bathtub! Is there anything more wondrous?? So wondrous I actually took a bath (normally I detest baths). The bathroom niceties smells so divine! There were two downsides: 1) They weren't very generous at all with the niceties. I have not been to a hotel where they only offer one set of shampoo, conditioner and body wash! If you have long hair like mine, you use up almost one bottle of shampoo in the first go...which leaves your partner needing the second bottle usually, until housekeeping replenishes it. As we only had one bottle each, sadly..... 2) When a guest calls housekeeping to ask for more bubble bath (because, as above, just one bottle....) for such a huge tub, one simply is not enough....Anyway, so when a guest asks for something, you can probably, safely assume, that they want it asap....and not until the night turn down service. So my extra bubble bath never arrived, which meant I had to substitute the shampoo and body wash for bubble bath, which meant my husband had nothing left other than one bottle of conditioner.... Judging by the rate of this never-appeared extra bottle of bubble bath, we thought maybe they will provide us with more shampoo and bodywash when we left the next morning so..... The Barn: ....is such a cosy restaurant, quite casual but elegant at the same time. The food was superb! The kitchen was open into the restaurant, so guests could see the chefs at work, smell the tantalizing scents wafting from every dish. The walk up over the bridge into the restaurant, as the sun set was glorious..... The grounds of the hotel: .....are glorious full stop. There is no words to describe the tranquil beauty of the place. We were very lucky to have top weather over this weekend, and were able to take the hotel's bikes to cycle around to check out the (huge!!) bunnies, some horses dotted around the stables, the geese gliding serenely along the pond, and enjoy the visual beauty of the flowers, shrubberies, around the estate. It was very quiet during this day we spent at the hotel, which equals to very peaceful and enjoyable. The breakfast: ....takes place at the fine dining restaurant, that has a really cool ceiling decoration. There is no buffet style breakfast, which is grand! As I have mentioned in my previous review posts, I detest buffet style breakfasts. It's wasteful and I'm not happy to pay such an amount for a luxury hotel stay, just to eat ''leftover since hours'' food. You got a menu, and you order what you would like, the chefs make it fresh for you, which is what a proper breakfast should be! Photos: ...are on my insta profile. I am just too lazy to upload them here as well. Staying again? .....is definitely an option, especially if to check out the actual Ascot. If we had more time, it would definitely have been worth renting a car and checking the nearby towns!

Great food, amazing treatments, great location and great staff. Come here regularly and it's consistently good. Would recommend. I love the spa! The pool is tucked away and quiet. This is somewhere to come to get away from It all.
