This venue had a wealth of art everywhere you look with a great fireplace in the lobby. This hotel is just outside the entrance to the Biltmore Estate and walking distance to the old shops. Our room was decorated in the modern style with a soaker tub. Very enjoyable accommodations.

We (family of four) stayed in mid-December. The hotel lobby was very nicely decorated for the holidays. a nice, comfortable fire burning in the common area. We had a late dinner in the hotel restaurant, the evening we arrived. it was delicious, and service was top notch. The room was clean, quiet and relatively spacious. Conveniently located across the street from the Biltmore property.

We had two separate stays at the Grand Bohemian that book-ended a fabulous getaway trip to Asheville! Having stayed in both the main “lodge” and the Manor House across the street, with all things being mostly equal (including upgrades) I think the MH was slightly better. Minor glitches were easily straighten out and all staff delivered excellent customer service. We love the bath salts provided on request. Husband loved the EDM cd from the in-room Bose radio and we borrowed it for our local road trip! Our loyalty to the Marriott brand/affiliation was also kindly rewarded. Grand Bohemian is well located in Biltmore Village and across from the entrance to Biltmore Estate. It is also a quick 2.4 miles drive into Downtown Asheville. Biltmore Village is quaint and easily walkable to a variety of food options nearby. TIP: For an excellent value, purchase your Biltmore Estates tickets with Grand Bohemian, and get 2-day admission, for the price of one.

The Grand Bohemian Asheville is aptly named and can easily be called a great American hotel. When you drive into the enclosed courtyard with hunting-lodge accents, you get your first hint that this hotel is uniquely special. The valet and bell service are perfection with energetic, hustling professionals who quickly usher you into the lobby for check-in. The small lobby is spectacularly gorgeous in dark panels, leather, purple lighting, hip music, colorful artwork, four-sided roaring fireplace, and lots of deeply comfy seating that suggested opulent hunting lodge meets Las Vegas. A very well-dressed, extremely friendly gentleman checked us in quickly with meticulous attention to details in explaining the offerings of the property and local area and discerning our every need. The elevators were quick and quiet. The halls were lavishly adorned with various art works (many for sale) displayed with mood lighting down dark halls with thick, brown velvet curtains. The executive studio suite was a well-appointed bedroom, living room, and bathroom set which emulated the dark accents, hunting lodge theme, and art of the common areas. Upon walking into the room, we were greeted by hip music on a Bose radio (the hotel’s own mix) and a phone call from the front desk inviting us down for champagne. The bed was extremely comfortable and well appointed (one of the best beds we’ve slept in). The living room was separated from the bedroom by brown, velvet drapes and was complete with couch and chair seating, a desk, music system, coffee bar, water, wine, and lighting. The bathroom included a large jetted tub, a nice shower, a fancy vanity-sink and mirror, and a separate water closet. The hotel includes a small spa, Poseidon Spa (we didn’t use the spa), and a restaurant/bar, The Red Stag Grill (very good, covered in a separate review). The hotel sits in the Biltmore Village area of Asheville with easy walking to nice shops and a variety of dining choices. Downtown Asheville is stocked full of more restaurants and shopping and is just a few-minute car ride away with plenty of ride services covering the area. The hotel sits on the south side of Asheville with easy interstate access a few miles south, which makes it a perfect base camp for driving from to explore the many activities available within the broader area of western North Carolina. The location also keeps this hotel out of the noise and bustle of the downtown, which was a plus for us. This hotel is expensive but worth every penny; I rate the Grand Bohemian Asheville as a fantastic value for a romantic and unique experience, a combination of spectacular service, fantastically and uniquely appointed property, and perfect location that will make any stay a special occasion. Highly recommended—one of my favorite hotels.
