The Limelight Hotel

Fantastic hotel with excellent service in a great location. When planning this trip, we considered the Limelight, the W, and St. Regis. Because our trip was being planned very last minute, there was little time for research, so I called the concierge at these hotels to ask questions as a means of gauging the level of service. Grace at the Limelight concierge was by far the most helpful. Not only was she warm and friendly, but she gave concrete recommendations, tips, and other advice. For instance, we were bringing our pup on this trip and looking for restaurants that were dog friendly (ie, who had patios open during the winter). She rattled off 3-4 recommendations. (Meanwhile, one of the other concierges just kept repeating “it’s at the discretion of the restaurant.” Uh okay, thanks for stating the obvious. And I wasn’t even able to reach at the concierge at the other hotel.) Our interactions with Grace were one of the key deciding factors in choosing the Limelight over the other hotels. (Management - Give this lady a raise!) More thoughts… PROS: - Location is great. Right across from a big park. In addition to being beautiful, it’s great if you have a pup. A 5-10 minute walk from so many restaurants, bars, and shops. - Rooms are very nice. Not uber posh, but modern, a good size, good amenities. Beds and pillows were comfortable. There’s a bar sink and microwave, if that’s of interest. Lavazzo coffee maker. And well stocked with nice quality plates, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, mugs, silverware, and even nice quality napkins. Not usually something we look for in a stay like this (because we’re eating out for all meals), but turned out that we did use those items (brought food back to the room a couple times - we were there a week, so sometimes wanted to be lowkey) and appreciated that they were high quality. - All of the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Grace and the rest of the concierge team were amazing. They quickly respond to emails and always answer the phone. - Two large spas and a pool that could fit a fair number of people, so you didn’t need to be touching legs with a stranger. - The bell staff was awesome. We took the free hotel shuttle to/from Snowmass. One day when we decided not to board and cancelled out shuttle reservations, they still called our cell to confirm so they didn’t inadvertently leave us. - If you take the shuttle back, the staff takes your gear directly from the shuttle to the storage room. You never even have to lay hands on them again. When we decided not to board one day, we needed to return our gear. We asked for a ride to the rental shop (so we didn’t have to walk and schlep the gear). The hotel staff said they would return it for us, so we didn’t need to go ourselves, which allowed us to go back to enjoying our vacation. We were thinking of boarding again the next day, so Grace went out of her way to ensure the rental shop recorded all the details/set up of our gear, so our rental process could be faster the next day. - Parking garage downstairs. $50/day. Multiple electric chargers. Slow speed, but good enough for a full charge overnight. CONS: - We loved our stay here, so hate to note anything negative, but want to give a full review. - The food at the restaurant was only okay. Our stay came with breakfast, which was nice. But the food was just fine. It was a buffet. Only egg options were scrambled (had chives on it, so you’re out of luck if you don’t like chives) or hard boiled. We ordered apres ski food and drinks multiple days. The pizza was disappointing and the fried brie was fine. The cocktails were also only okay. Margaritas has an odd coconut flavor to them, and the adult hot chocolate we ordered ironically was not hot. - Lots of loud children on our floor screaming and running down the halls. (This seems to have come from one large family with seemingly loud and unruly children, so perhaps it was an anomaly rather than the normal experience here.) PRO TIP: - The concierge had discount passes that give you 15% off rentals at Four Mountain. We did not see this until after, so missed out on the savings. So make sure you grab one before going. - The bell staff can get backed up, so call down early to book luggage assistance or a ride somewhere. - Remember to return the parking tag if you park in the building, or you’ll be charged $50. No one mentioned this at check-in, so we thought it was a disposable tag (because it was made of thick paper/cardboard). Thankfully, we hadn’t thrown it away, so mailed it back for a refund.

Great place to stay when in Aspen!

Great hotel with great location! The large lounge space and outdoor patio are so nice and a great place to hang out any time of day. Delicious food and ambiance ,and the pool is very nice too!

This is a nice hotel. Very clean and every staff member was friendly and eager to serve. The free breakfast had a crazy amount of food.

I found the service and people who work there to be extremely helpful ,courteous and available. The front desk staff especially Stephanie and the manager Elliott were terrific! They have great employees! I definitely look forward to staying there again.
