Visited for 2 days the end of Nov. Holiday decorations were elegant. Fireplace in Lounge was cozy. Best spot was balcony. Could watch the skiers and experience all the Holiday decorations and lights of Aspen. Hotel location was perfect for walking the entire city. Would recommend highly to friends. Can't wait to return!

They have a tasty choice of house wines at below "Aspen" prices The pizza and cannoli were equally good. The lamb bolognese was good, tasted more like New Zealand lamb than one from Colorado. Colorado lamb is much milder. The service was a different story. Not a busy night for 3 servers. 2 tables of 2 and one of 6 and about a dozen folks sipping wine in the lounge. Once we got out dinner we never saw a server again. We would have liked another glass of wine and a dessert but finally had to walk to the empty bar to ask for a check. This may not be the servers fault if they were inexperienced but is management and the training problem. This hotel is about to get slammed for the winter season and they are in serious trouble with the current wait staff.

The Limelight is a relatively sensible /reasonable option in Aspen (that's a scale) that is well located and clean: although the place clearly lacks charm / warmth and the décor, rooms or common areas are barely Ikea grade , this hotel is less outrageously overpriced as the well known Little Neil, Hyatt or Hotel Jerome. Of course, the lobby, restaurant areas, gym or pool could use an upgrade; yes, the pet owners and families with children running wild can get a bit annoying but the Limelight doesn’t pretend to be a luxury option. Beyond this overall package and reasonable pricing, it is the front desk staff that makes up for the rest of the humble value proposition that the Limelight has to offer : from the first hello at check in, the ladies -and especially the ever efficient , pleasant & professional Nicholette Smith at the front desk were always helpful, available and ready to go an extra mile to satisfy their guests. Unfortunately, the main ailment of this establishment seems to stem from a relatively recent hire of an "Hotel manager" that put a bad taste in our 4 days stay: beyond an obvious lack of social skills making him seemingly incapable of uttering any sort of greeting or good morning several times while standing at the front desk, this awkward leader seems to also have a knack of constantly getting in the way of his staff‘s efforts to satisfy the simplest requests: rather than accommodating us with a better room -despite most of the hotel being empty and getting refurbished before the grand opening Winter week of Thanksgiving- his default mode seemed to interfere / block any positive initiative from his Guest services team when they tried to make an effort to go the extra mile: this happened repeatedly for other basic requests, to the point that his own staff has no choice but to take it away from his direct control in order to get any result. An Hotel manager is supposed to set the tone & example when it comes to defining the unique brand of hospitality and quality of an establishment: this requires this person to be able to embody and nurture a culture of service and empowerment of his team rather than discouraging them… The Limelight and it staff could do /deserve better and I hope that the owners will quickly realize this missing link, especially for a small, high standard and competitive destination like Aspen where reputation is key and spreads fast on the way down !

Truly a great place with people who clearly care about their guests. Parking is easy directly under the building, and the included breakfast has something for everyone. I got a great run in along the river, and then enjoyed steel cut oats and yogurt along with my coffee. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bar was certainly positive also! Will definitely return! Thank you.
