We had to wait a while for our room, but they actually upgraded our room to a large room by the pool, which worked out well. Great location. The breakfast was amazing. Provided kids with a surprise S'mores pack for the patio. Needless to stay, kids voted it a 10 out of 10. Beautiful view of the mountain as well. We would definitely book again.

Very friendly, alert staff. Free rides to/from airport (15 min), and Aspen Meadows conf center (7 min). Happily tipped $10 on each of 6 trips over 4 days. When no drivers available, concierge (Liam) volunteered (guest services mgr Nicholette's initiative) while front desk checked bus route option (not needed). Excellent front desk tip on nearby sandwich/burger shop: White House Tavern (2 1/2 blks). When iPhone battery -- and recharge cable -- died, rescued by front desk at 1 a.m., w/ fully charged phone ready at 7 a.m. Again, no fee. Rooms /hallways spacious, mb too spacious, but clean, comfortable. Gratis bfast healthy, abundant. Location near center of town, easy walk to shops, restaurants, Ute trail (steep(!)hiking climb), Rio Grande Trail (gentle grades running, biking ~40 mi). Pet friendly: guests' occasional dog on leash a homey touch. Pricey overall, but less so w/ free rides/bfast... AND highly appreciated time-saving/experience-enhancing service.

Our family booked a 2 bedroom suite through American Express Platinum. The room was expensive $1245 plus add ons by the hotel and we had hoped for a great family experience. Upon arrival the check in went smoothly and when it came to parking our car this was a disaster. We were told to park as a resident on the street with a special parking pass and after 30 min of not finding a spot we retuned to the hotel for help. Clearly they need to do better. Once in the room it smelled of something although I wasn't quite sure what. After being in the hotel for about an hour and seeing 10's of dogs wondering the halls, elevator and lobby with there owners it was clear to me that this was a dogie hotel and the smell was that of pets. The room which was expensive was decorated like a cheap hotel. Location was very good as was the pool for our kids. One plus was the pizza bar which turn out to be very good for the kids dinner. With our room came breakfast which we were really looking forward too as a family. It quickly became a nightmare. It was everyone for themselves basically a free for all in the breakfast area for seating and the food layout might have be done by a 5 year old. We were a party of 6 and 3 had to sit and 3 had to stand while eating food that was modest at best. We than asked for a late checkout and the manager who was a women was rude and of no help. With our platinum card most fine hotels try to accommodate a late check out. We were asking for 2 hours and to check out at 2pm when check in is 4pm. No budging on this rude managers part. As I was heading down to check this women came into the elevator frantic saying this was the worst experience at a hotel she had ever had. It turns out she was bitten all over while sleeping with who only knows with all the dogs in the hotel. When I did finally get down to the front desk to check out the attendant didn't have paper in the printer so I couldn't see our billing. He than suggested emailing it to us so I could review later and we still haven't seen the bill. As we were leaving the hotel the hotel attendant ran outside to us to give us a copy of our bill now that he found paper which we thanked him. Upon looking at the bill as we drove down the road it turned out to be someone else's bill and they must have mine. So much for privacy as it has our personal info on the bill. The thought of going back to work this out was a non starter as we wanted away from this place. So much for a vacation! Bottom line there are a lot of very good hotels at this price range in Aspen that we have stayed in before and we will NEVER AGAIN stay at this hotel.

The limelight was so helpful to us during our stay. This being our first trip to Aspen, we had no set plans when we came here, but the concierge consistently helped us find fun things to do and made reservations for us. I know the hotel might seem overpriced (along with almost everything else in Aspen), but using the things provided to you by the Limelight really makes it worthwhile. Every morning there is a free breakfast provided (not amazing, but decent), they have a shuttle that they offer for free to take you to nearby destinations, free paddle boarding comes with the stay, and you can even take the hotel Audi out for 2 hours to travel a ways out of Aspen. Plus, dogs roam the hotel! What could be better?

A great downtown location, unpretentious, low-slung, it seems like a very popular hotel for the slightly older set. Rooms are comfortable even if nothing to speak about, the front-desk is busy and friendly, there is a free drop-off to the airport and it is walking distance to the main restaurant and shopping strip in Aspen.
