Where to start? It's simple ... the folks behind the checkin desk, Marty and Ola. I haven't taken the time to check in on Trip Advisor lately, let alone write a review—let a lone feel compelled to write said review simply because of the impression I had of the staff, but I must give credit where credit is due. Let's start with the setup. My wife and I knew we wanted to stay in Aspen—just to see what the place was about—before continuing to Vale and Estes Park. Our plan was to spend one night in each place as we worked our way back from Santa Fe to our home near Minneapolis. Seeing as this is the "off season" in the southwest and in the Rockies, we've just been taking it easy and booking rooms as we go. So when we called 20 minutes before our arrival and booked our rooms via the Limelight call center, we really weren't expecting much. Enter Marty at the front desk. When we arrived, looking pretty much like people who might not really belong at such a high-end, luxury hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by how genuinely glad Marty seemed to welcome Cara and I to the hotel. He saw that the call center hadn't quite gotten it all right in the system—it being such short notice, and all—and he just smiled and made a warm and funny comment about getting us all taken care of. What's more, he didn't seem satisfied with the room the system had chosen for us and felt—seeing that this was our first night in Aspen EVER—that he wanted to give us a different experience. I'm not going to go into detail, but let's just say that Cara and I were speechless when we saw our room. We were very grateful for this kind consideration and we felt very fortunate to have picked this stunning hotel. More about the hotel ... The building is a world-class property, yet it is warm, inviting, and has a fun, cozy atmosphere. Located very close to the ski slopes, we were able to watch late-season skiers try there luck on the last vestiges of snow on the mountain. First up was to have some dinner and a drink, and the Limelight did not disappoint. They have a wood fire pizza oven and we ordered our favorite combo, which came out in what seemed like 5 minutes. The wait staff were all friendly and attentive—without being overly so (if you know what I mean). The room had the most outstanding amenities we've seen in our recent travels and we've stayed in world-class hotels all through the US and Europe—including some premier properties in New York. The Limelight held its own in every aspect. The top-floor balcony, in room fireplace, awesomely comfortable bed, kitchenette, all were very much appreciated. We loved it so much, in fact, that we asked if we could extend our stay. About that ... When I went back to the front desk, I was a bit nervous about requesting that we stay an additional night. Before I could even open up my mouth, however, Marty's colleage, Ola, asked how we'd been enjoying our stay and if we, as Minnesotans, liked our experience in Colorado so far. This showed me that Marty had made other members of the team aware of our stay and we felt kind of like they all were looking out for us "Aspen Newbies." Before I even could ask if we could extend our stay in the great room we were assigned, Marty asked ME if I'd be interested in staying longer. I said—well, sure. Who needs to role the dice in Veil when we were happy as clams here in Aspen. What consideration; really, we were both astounded—not only by the consideration, but also by the genuineness of Marty and Ola. I'm not sure if I can get this idea across, but sometimes—even when they're doing you favors—hotel staff sometimes can come across kind of pretentious, disingenuous, and carry themselves as if they're doing you a favor, which kind of makes a guest feel a bit bad. Contract that to Marty and Ola, who came across more like neighbors of ours who had experienced something great and wanted to make sure that we experienced that "something great," too, so that we would be sure to understand what it is that was so great. Lots of words to say—these folks just seemed, well, like FOLKS who got their kicks seeing other people have a great experience. Anyway, I'm behind on my emails for the day, so I better go. But before I do, I have to share one more thing. I'm not sure what this says about my wife and I, but on day two, we decided to push our luck one more time and called down to the front desk to see if we might be able to stay in our palatial room one more night. Ola answered at the front desk, and—before I could ask—he asked me if I had seen Marty yet. I said no, but then heard a knock at our door. Marty was standing there with a bottle of wine for my wife and I and asked if we'd like to stay one more night. How outstanding! Needless to say that we'll need to wait for another time to visit Vail and Estes Park! Well done Marty, Ola, and all the rest of the Limelight management and staff. You've got great values, have created an intelligent, human-experience-centered culture, and Cara and I can't thank you enough. We're looking forward to making more trips to Aspen—not because of the skying, but because of the Limelight.

Why mess with perfection? This hotel has it all, as I had re-confirmed on a recent trip there with my ski group. Need a lift to the gondola? No problem! Staff will whisk you over in the hotel's SUVs. Why ruin your pricey ski boots walking? Good food, music, drinks, hot tub? It is all there! Live music on some nights during Happy Hour. Did I mention the staff and cleaning crew? All knock themselves out to make your stay as seamless as possible, leaving you to enjoy the snow or whatever your pleasure is. Centrally located, steps from Wheeler Opera House and Jerome hotel and scrumptious dining options if you decide to venture out. This hotel has gotten better, and the staff has a lot to do with the ambience. The place itself is soooooooo comfortable and well-laid out, you may opt to stay put and not play in the snow:) A "Shout-out" to Peter and the staff - they feel like family at this point! Our go-to spot when in Aspen- is there really any other?

The limelight hotel is first class! We were a large ski group (73) . When the buses arrived at the hotel we were met by Nicolette and told to just identify our bags and tag them.The hotel staff had unloaded the bus and then brought all the luggage to each rm.. we were able to register any time that evening ,so as not to create a jam at the desk.This worked like a charm (we had been given rm keys on the bus) Food is great,BofA was included with our room and was always plentiful and varied. Pete (front desk) has known our club for many years and is a delite to speak with! After skiing we came back to the aroma of fresh baked cookies in the lobby. Could not have a better lodging experience...kudos to all the staff

I was just in the restaurant section. The woodfired pizza was so good we went back again before I left. A super friendly staff that is easy to talk to and have amazing adventures they have gone on or plan to go on. So great hearing their stories. It was a great spot to watch it snow in their big windows. The first night there was even a small band playing. Fires out back with smores too!
