About the Hotel

The name of this hotel is misleading. In fact, The Little Nell is Aspen's biggest extravagance, a ski-in, ski-out den of decadence at the base of Aspen Mountain. While the style may be that of an intimate country inn, the service and sumptuousness belong to a grand hotel. From the private entrance, 2,500-square-foot Paepcke Suite with a fireplace in its king-bedded master bedroom to wine classes complemented by a 15,000 bottle private cellar, indulgence knows no bounds.

Reviews for The Little Nell

Excellent service and wonderful, modern room with fireplace and balcony !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We just wrapped up a long weekend here during mud season. We had issue with the heat in our room which the staff quickly tried address and ended up moving up to the Roch suite. It was very generous and unexpected. From the time we arrived until we left the hospitality was top notch. The suite was fanastic and loved the fireplaces and balcony. The bed was a Bryte ‘smart’ which had variable firmess and interesting, soft rolling motion feature. Very comfortable ! Mini bar was stocked and all non- alcoholic beverages were complimentary. You can arrange for free airport transport. We ate Element 47 for breakfast (vegetable scramble was soooo good) and Ajax Tavern. Both were good. There is 24 room service, but the late night menu is light but nice to have the option. The hotel is within walking distance of everything, including the Rubey Transit location where you can catch a clean and free bus to Aspen Highlands Plaza to get the Maroon Bells shuttle. This hotel may not have the unique, location specific vibe of the Hotel Jerome ( our second choice and I recommend the J -Bar there), but we really wanted a fireplace and balcony and we loved our stay at the Little Nell. Thank you !

Excellent luxury hotel and ski in/out

A beautiful hotel right at the gondola on Ajax Mtn. The guys at the ski concierge were excellent as were a majority of the staff. The rooms were spacious and beautiful with free soft drinks and snacks restocked every day. They have free shuttles to all the other resorts on the half hour. Great holiday Our experience was that people go to Aspen to be seen and to see celebrities so the mountain was empty which suited me

Underwhelming stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 months ago

I visited last December with my dad for an early season ski trip. We heard AMAZING things about the Little Nell from friends, so we were excited to book our stay here. It was our first time skiing Aspen (we usually ski in Deer Valley or Europe) so we wanted to try out both the Little Nell and Hotel Jerome as we heard those were the two best. We found it a bit underwhelming and disappointing, especially relative to our stay at Hotel Jerome. Service We heard that the service here was outstanding, we found it very cold and at times unprofessional. Our breakfast server was quite rude. The concierge was not the most helpful with making dinner reservations. Overall it was fine, but certainly no standout service except at the ski room! The ski room had excellent service and were very friendly. Room It felt very outdated and not cohesive. The barn sliding doors are quite bizarre. The balcony was small. The bed was very comfortable though which is critical after a day of skiing. Food Nothing memorable, but the food was fine. Breakfast was good each morning - there could be a few more options. Overall, by no means is the Little Nell a bad hotel. In our experience, it was not as special as we had heard, so we were quite disappointed with our stay and wouldn’t be our first choice to book again in Aspen. By contrast, we really loved Hotel Jerome and found the service to be much superior.

Truly luxurious

My kid and I stayed at the Little Nell in April and had a fabulous time. The location is unbeatable, with a short walk to almost everywhere in town and at the base of the mountain. I did not get to ski as I’m a terrible skier and can only do greens, but anyone who can do blues and above will find it super convenient. The rooms are super spacious and ridiculously plush. I’ve never had such thick and soft carpet in any other hotel. All the linens were top grade, and loved that everything in the mini bar was complimentary (my son loved that part). Service was excellent without being overbearing. My son is already asking when we can come back.

Perfect hotel for the holiday season

The Little Nell was the perfect choice for a girls’ trip for Christmas shopping. We loved being able to walk anywhere we needed to go, or be driven in one of their SUVs to dinner. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly, and the rooms beautiful. We loved sitting by the fire at night and turning on a Christmas movie for a cozy experience. We plan to bring our families back with us to visit this December!
