Loved this hotel! I felt at home. Bedding and Pillows were the best, slept like a baby! Very clean and cozy. Excellent location! Right in the heart of Aspen, so we didn't need to rent a car. Everything is in walking distance.

A delightful experience

What a beautiful hotel. So different from the big chain type hotels. Reminiscent of a bygone era, the eclectic mix of antique furniture and a clever blend of old and new, made this stay one of the most enjoyable ever. The bed was so comfy and made for a good night’s sleep; all the more pleasurable by its beautiful, fresh bed linen and spotless presentation. A truly high standard experience for those wanting a more interesting hotel. Highly recommend.

The Residence hotel is right in downtown Aspen. A fabulous location. You climb a one story flight of stairs, and you are in the lobby. Do not stay here if you have walking up stair issues. That’s your only entrance and those steep stairs is where you go with your bags. Once up there, you enter a beautiful large sitting room. Here we were greeted by Ms. Terry Butler and her super cute dog, Charlie. She is a delight and the consummate host. She treats all of her guests as old friends. The wall in this room is covered with pictures of her with The Who’s Who of famous celebrities that have stayed there. The rooms are big , extravagantly decorated and very eclectic. Once again, if you want a modern hotel room with all the amenities, go elsewhere. If you want to be treated like you entered someone’s home, come here.

After several years bouncing around various Aspen hotels, the Residence Hotel has become our “home away from home”. Located in the heart of Aspen, it is filled with beautiful antiques, gorgeous linens, and cosy duvets. The hotel owner, Terry, and her staff always make us feel so welcome. Terry has the inside scoop on every restaurant and event in Aspen, so there is no guesswork when we want to try a new restaurant. When we don’t want to go out to eat, the kitchen in our room has everything we need to prepare anything we desire. Each suite we have stayed in at the Residence is filled with unique designer touches and each has a completely different floor plan, there is nothing cookie cutter about this enchanting hotel. We cannot wait to return, counting the weeks!

You like the cheap, particle board furniture found in most hotels? Yeah, me neither. This place is chock full of real, quality furnishings--mostly fine antiques. Terry, the owner, is as friendly and helpful as can be. When you're at the Residence, you're home!
