We had a pleasant, almost completely white 2nd floor room which offered a lot of space but not a great view. The bed was comfortable, storage space was generous, an expensive-looking office desk in chrome and glass. Plenty of power sockets, too, though only one seemed to work properly. The internet speed was perfectly acceptable to me. The bathroom seemed a bit old fashioned - a shower curtain is quite a novelty these days - but it all worked. No tissues in the room which is a big no-no for me. Overall, it was perhaps a bit fussy-frilly for my taste. The public areas are beautiful, especially the dining room where we had a rather tough steak which we ordered rare and arrived medium-wellish. Breakfasts were first class, with nicely-cooked scrambled eggs on the buffet, an array of decent breads and pastries and some lovely fresh mango and pineapple. The main thing we liked was the staff - without exception they were pitch perfect. The ihotel’s location doesn’t seem very interesting - mainly shopping malls and fast food joints - but it did seem perfectly safe. Amazing value, too, for people accustomed to places like Brasil and Chile. We thought La Mision was a definition of the term 'boutique hotel.'

We stayed in this hotel in Asuncion for 6 days. In a word, the hotel is outstanding in every way. The staff at all levels were exceptionally courteous and helpful, the location within the city was very convenient for both shopping and sightseeing, and the executive double room was superb -spacious, elegant, with outstanding housekeeping with daily supplies of free water, and a large bathroom. The hotel’s ambience and decor are excellent. Minor points are that it would have been nice if the shower had been stronger and a box of tissues had ben supplied. The breakfasts were extremely impressive in terms of quality, volume and variety. The fruit was particularly good. Overall, we were enormously impressed with this hotel which is one of the finest we have ever stayed in, and we have travelled all over the world. Having stayed here, we can’t imagine ever choosing any other hotel in Asuncion in the future. We would highly recommend it.

I recently stayed at La Misión Hotel, and I can confidently say the property itself is the best I’ve experienced in Asunción, Paraguay. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are exceptional, and the overall environment is truly first-class. However, several service issues left me disappointed. A few days after booking, the hotel emailed me asking how they could assist. I replied with a few requests, including arranging a taxi pickup from the airport, but received no response. I sent a follow-up email days later and still heard nothing. This level of communication is concerning. During my stay, I ordered room service and waited a total of 1.5 hours. When I called to check on the order, I was told they had simply forgotten it. There was no apology, no effort to make it right, and no courtesy gesture—just “We forgot. Do you still want the food?” This is not the customer service one expects from any hotel. Perhaps most troubling, while I was on hold with the front desk, I overheard staff refer to me as “La Negra.” Hearing this from employees at a luxury hotel was shocking and deeply disappointing. It left me feeling disrespected in a place where professionalism should be the standard. La Misión is a beautiful hotel with incredible potential, but the staff’s communication, customer service, and cultural sensitivity need significant improvement. My hope is that management addresses these issues so the service can match the excellence of the property itself.

We spend several weeks in Asunción every year and have stayed in many different hotels, but this one is by far the best one we have ever found. We no longer even look for a different hotel when we visit Asunción. The first class service is noticeable from the very first moment you step into the hotel. Literally everyone, from the bellboys, to reception, to the maids, to the waiters and to reception, quickly learn your names and treat you like family. The ambiance, designed after the Jesuit missions in Paraguay, is very pleasant and comfortable. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are spacious and well-furnished. There is plenty of light and there are even USB outlets and US and even English electrical outlets. The beds are so comfortable that they make us want to replace the ones we have at home. The breakfast buffet is spectacular, and it even includes a la carte items you can order, all of which is included. The hotel is also well-located. It is near good shopping and great restaurants. The hotel restaurant is also a very good choice, if you don't want to leave the hotel for meals.
