We spend several weeks in Asunción every year and have stayed in many different hotels, but this one is by far the best one we have ever found. We no longer even look for a different hotel when we visit Asunción. The first class service is noticeable from the very first moment you step into the hotel. Literally everyone, from the bellboys, to reception, to the maids, to the waiters and to reception, quickly learn your names and treat you like family. The ambiance, designed after the Jesuit missions in Paraguay, is very pleasant and comfortable. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are spacious and well-furnished. There is plenty of light and there are even USB outlets and US and even English electrical outlets. The beds are so comfortable that they make us want to replace the ones we have at home. The breakfast buffet is spectacular, and it even includes a la carte items you can order, all of which is included. The hotel is also well-located. It is near good shopping and great restaurants. The hotel restaurant is also a very good choice, if you don't want to leave the hotel for meals.

Had a short stay at La Misión and was impressed by the level of service. Everything was excellent and the attentions from the staff were impeccable. Definitely a great place to stay.

La Mision might be the nicest hotel in Paraguay. Sitting in the affluent neighborhood of Recoleta (although some say it's in Villa Morra, a minor quibble since Villa Morra is also safe and affluent), its location is walkable to plenty of great restaurants and shopping. If you want the downtown sights, though, you'll need to take a car. I had no trouble finding Bolt rides when I wanted to go further afield, and Uber is apparently pretty well-embedded in Asuncion as well. I'd also recommend you take these services from the airport as well if you don't rent your own car like I did; it's about 30 minutes away, but the shuttle the hotel offered me was a stunning $60. Room cleanliness and design are on-par with highly-regarded boutique hotels anywhere else in the world. Service is over-the-top with attentiveness and pleasant interactions, from the security guard outside right on up to the managers. The door was held for me every time I came in or went out. When my flight landed too early to get an immediate check-in, the front desk clerk gave me advice on options to pass the time and then upgraded me when my room still wasn't ready after check-out time passed. English was well-spoken by all front desk staff and decently well by restaurant staff; you may need a little Spanish if you need to interact with the housekeepers. Honestly, it pains me to dock any stars from this hotel; only two minor issues keep it from a perfect rating, neither of which are the fault of its staff. First, the price point is just too high--at over $200 a night for the most basic room, it's far above the cost of other very nice properties in the area. Second, as an old building it lacks some of the quietness of modern constructions--there are frequent creaks and groans from pipes and elevators, and if you're a light sleeper street and construction noise may be an issue. If there was an option for 4.5 stars that's where I would settle.

Amazing hotel, amazing staff, fantastic location in town and close to old town by car (about 20 mins). Cleanliness - High standard Outdoor rooftop pool. Felt traditional and at breakfast we had a proper teapot with English Breakfast tea (we are from U.K.) 🤣 Loved the place and would return !

My wife and I spent 4 nights here and loved it. We had a corporate flat that was spacious and well furnished. It was essentially a suite but had a kitchenette as well as a washer and dryer. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was delicious. Front desk personnel spoke great English and were always friendly and helpful. We couldn’t find any English tv channels but later learned that they were in the 500s. If it’s an issue for you, just ask the front desk and they’ll help you. This is great hotel and we would definitely stay here again.
