Divani Caravel Hotel

Stayed at Divani for 4 nights in early September 2025. We believe the hotel to be a solid 4-star, but we were told upon checkout to pay the tourism fee of 15€ per night for a 5-star hotel, which was definitely not the case. The room was large and spacious, the view of Acropolis in the distance was an amazing experience, but there were multiple little details with the room itself that are not up to standards. - They only provided 2 small pillows upon check-in and I had to request more. Usually 5 star hotels provide extra pillows and blankets in the closet. - The bed was comfortable and firm, and we slept very well. However, the walls of the hotel are so very thin, we could hear the maid’s pager go off throughout the morning. - The washroom was large, but really outdated. There was no walk-in shower, instead a narrow tub from the 1990s, that was uncomfortable to stand in because of its design. - The water pressure of the shower was weak, and the hot water was not consistent. It went from cold, to burning hot (like almost burn yourself), to freezing cold again, which made taking showers really undesirable. - The AC was a built in unit, that you cannot see because hidden in the desk, but it worked very well. The room was very cool, and we had full control over it. - There are big windows that can open all the way up, if you prefer fresh air instead of AC. - There is 24hour room service provided, if needed. The hotel: - The staff are all very kind and helpful, and make the hospitality of this hotel. - There are spa and massage services provided on the rooftop floor. The prices seemed competitive. - There was also a gym, with everything you need to get a good workout in. Two saunas were also available from 8am to 8pm. - The roof has a swimming pool and bar, with a nice view of Athens and the Acropolis. Drinks were very overpriced, 22-28€ for a regular cocktail and 10€ for a draft beer. - There were 4-5 elevators and we never had any issues with waiting for one. - The hotel is located 8-10minutes away from a metro station, which is very easily walkable. Metro costs 1.20€ one way. It is 2 stops away from Plaka (center), and that took us 20mins total included walking from Divani. To walk it would take 30-40mins. - Parking was supposed to be included in this hotel, which is why we booked it, but upon arrival we were told it was an additional 35€ per night to park. So, we opted for street parking, which was not as difficult as we had been told. We easily found parking for the two nights we had a car. - The hotel has multiple conference rooms and seemed to be a business hotel. - The restaurants nearby are not that great, as it seemed to be more a quiet area. Breakfast was included in our room, and it was plentiful. An array of eggs, pastries, some vegetables and fruits, yogurts, nuts, even some Indian food that was made fresh everyday. The food was good, the waiters were kind and made any coffee you wanted. Overall, it was a decent hotel, with a good location away from all the action- if that’s what you are looking for. Is it a 5-star hotel? Not compared to other 5-stars around the world. Is it worth 400CAD$, or 250€ per night? Probably not, but when in Athens, if you need something relatively good, you book it.

While staying at the Divani hotel I had the pleasure of going for a facial and massage in the hotel Spa and I was taken very good care of by the lovely Marie. It was one of the best facials I have ever had! Marie’s attention to detail and the ability to relax the body was amazing. I enjoyed every single minute of it!!! I can’t wait to come back. Thank you

It is a large hotel close to the museums and antiquities of Athens. On average, it took Uber to drive us at least 30 minutes through a lot of traffic to places like the Acropolis Museum. The Hotel only has one restaurant that is open most times. However, it is really not close to being accessible for people in a wheelchair. It needs to have a lift added so you can use the restaurant without looking at a big accident. The doors to the rooms are narrow but will squeeze a wheelchair in them. Room was cleaned everyday and staff was helpful when we needed help. There are several restaurants outside the hotel in the back. They are good choices for dinners which seem to start here at sundown, about 7 pm. They could add some extra pillows and a working ice machine on every floor. Also, add a handicap lift to the front of the hotel so we would not have to detour to the lower level outside to get in. Resonably priced. WE had a King sized bed with a view of the Acropolis from our window.

Marie is a great masseur. One of my best massage treatment ever. The right strength, kind and relaxing vibes. A must to experience.

Hara - excellent scrub, mask and facial. What a special treat and experience. Feel relaxed and happy. Hara = happiness in Greek :-)
