Reviews for Grand Resort Lagonissi
I wasn't impressed with the room at all very dated.. it was very small for the price we paid!!! The service was friendly but they they charge you for everything without your knowledge, I will be choosing another hotel for my next stay in Athens.
The location is very inconvenient, however, the views and the grounds of the hotel make it worth the trip. It would be perfect for a relaxing getaway away from the city and the noise. The views are breathtaking.
The location is beautiful. However, it is a place very away from the city of Athens. Therefore, when I travel from somewhere so far away I expect an excellent service and food which would make it a memorable experience. This place did not meet our expectations. We went there for my mother's birthday. Upon arrival, we requested 2 extra chairs as we had more friends coming. However, the Maitre said it will not be possible. When a guest asks you something you should better say it would be possible and then find a way to accommodate her requests. Nevertheless, they added an extra table and chairs. Food was nothing amazing or something I have never tried before. The prices were very high for no reason. Green salad with parmesan flakes would go up to 28 euros. I think this is non sense. The black tagliatelle were good. Maitre was rude and unprofessional. We asked him to bring the birthday cake that we had arranged for my mother. They brought the cake and then later on set the table with the plates. We had no cutlery and no knife to slice the cake. They did not offer us the service of taking the cake back to the kitchen and slicing it for us. Nor wished us happy birthday. The funny thing was that another person had their birthday the previous day. We wanted to ask whether they could do something very simple which would be to offer a dessert with a candle on. The maƮtre did not even have the initiative to recommend this to us but suggested to bring the menu so we could choose. He really seemed to have decided not to help us or that was bored of his job. Conclusion: Not worth it. Unprofessionalism and high prices that reflect nothing. You should better re-evaluate your menu and team

I come to this hotel for 6 years, but this year the service is exceptionally bad. Not all of the hotel workers speak English! Moreover, the room service comes to the room without permission to pick up the dirty dishes! In our case, the waitress came at 23:00, opened the door with her own key and woke up everyone on the bungalow! If it is the five star hotel the service should fulfill all requirements!
Old shabby hotel. Service is good and the beach is nice. Once in a hotel you are completely isolated from the rest of the world unless you rent a car and drive somewhere. The food in the hotel is good quality but extremely overpriced ( Cesar salad made with iceberg lettuce is 26 Euro!). The taxi service is also strategically overpriced ( you pay double exactly). One should exit the hotel and try to fetch the taxi there. On the way back beware of the taxi drivers that will attempt to also overcharge you ( in hopes that you have no idea about what is going on). Also, a word of advise, if you end up staying here and prefer to drink a bottled water, walk outside of the hotel and find a kiosk or a small shop on the main street. Too bad I found out about this opportunity too late and have been paying 4 Euros for a 1 Leter bottle ( plus 10 Euro room service charge). Rip off. I will never stay in this hotel again and I would not recommend it to others either. Despite the beauty of the beach ( all of Greece is gorgeous!) and the nice staff the overall impression of this dated hotel is unfavorable. It seems everything was done to rip off the guests for as much as possible ( bad strategy!!!!).
