About the Hotel

A modern marvel located inside an ancient city, NJV Athens Plaza - a Preferred Hotels & Resorts property, part of Preferred Hotel Group - swells with sophistication in this bustling Greece metropolis. Ideally located in Constitution Square, next to the Greek Parliament, this urban oasis offers spectacular views of the Acropolis. A lasting first impression begins inside the jeweled lobby, with its swirl of lounge chairs and stone embellishments. Members of the Parliament often descend upon the hotel for leisurely lunches and socializing. The compilation of rooms and suites evokes a chic and contemporary feel, with relaxing neutral tones and deep crimson accents. Suites have a designer presence, with influences from Ralph Lauren and Versace, plus jutting balconies and soundproof walls that provide a cocoon of comfort.

so far so good

There are no bidets, toothbrushes, or toothpaste. It is necessary to have those in the bathroom for cleanliness. The place is good and very nice. If I ever come back, I will still stay in this hotel. Also, I like most of the staff who are very accommodating and friendly. Thank you.

Convenient location, needs updating

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

My three-star rating is based on an average of several criteria. First, the location is five-star. Absolutely could not be more convenient for exploring the heart of Athens on foot, and easily within reach of many excellent restaurants from casual to fancy. Also five-star ratings for the staff, who were uniformly polite and helpful. But oh, those rooms. Those dowdy, tired rooms are not up to the standard of a premier hotel. The sink and tub handles both fell off during use (we asked for maintenance to repair the first incident but didn't bother the second time), and where there should have been a towel ring on the side of the bathroom vanity there was only an empty knob. The bathroom lighting is ugly, unflattering fluorescent tubes. The rug is worn and drab, and the bed saggy. And while I appreciate that they have tried to keep up with the electronic demands of modern travel, their short-term solutions look a little scary and in need of upgrades (see photo). We were warned before arriving that the hotel would be undergoing renovation, so I was hopeful that these rooms would soon get a much-needed complete overhaul. But when I spoke to someone at the front desk before checking out, I was told that the renovation would only be done on floors 4 and above. So if you're going to be staying on a lower floor, as we were, you have my sympathy. As you look through the room photos on Tripadvisor, note that many of the rooms look as if they're in completely different hotels; what you're seeing is the difference between renovated and non-renovated rooms.

Lovely hotel and staff

Stayed here with Viking Cruises. Excellent location, very friendly staff from the front doors to housekeeping. Clean rooms. Fast, but small elevators. I am sure renovations that we are reading about will be really nice. Bed was comfortable. Athens is loud 24 hours a day, and with this hotel being so centrally located, you get all of the road noise. Cannot be helped, it was so nice to walk everywhere. We smelled cigarette smoke wafting through our vents, so someone was breaking rules somewhere. Breakfast was really good. Common areas spotless. We would stay here again.

Amazing

Excellent location in the centre of Athens. Beautiful view from the room, very clean hotel and friendly staff. The breakfast is good. Will be one of our first choices in the next visit to Athens as is offering relaxed hospitality and easy access to everything.
