Reviewers should use their real name. If your going to say something stand by it. Simon O'Connor. Cordis is a great Hotel, It has big shoes to fill in Langham Hotel. Langham was by far the best Hotel in Auckland. It built up its reputation and clientele over many years. Cordis's room renovation is good if you like modern Hong Kong, but i'd pay $100 extra per night for one of Langhams more cultured rooms. Cordis appears to be aimed at another market. I'm sure Cordis will do well with this hotel. Good luck to them,

Beautiful Ambience at hotel. Interiors our tastefully done. Staff is extremely courteous and friendly. Rooms are very nice and clean. Menu needs to have more vegetarian options. Hotel is located about 15-20 minutes from the main shopping and nightlife hubs. The hotel provides complimentary shuttle service. It also provides free phone for using maps and for local phone calls. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Arriving after a whirlwind of work at the University and expecting ‘a new hotel service devoted to you’, the Cordis completely flopped on these expectations. I waited patiently as others were served at the front desk. I was told I was allocated 2 twin beds in my room. I noted I had asked for a king bed and they offered me another room. I listened as the women next to me was informed of all that the hotel had to offer, and I was merely given two room keys. Despite being informed that the room was on charge-back to my workplace, I was asked for my credit card and then informed $400 would be taken from this, in case of room incidentals. I obliged. I was told that there were renovations and that noise could be expected between working hours. I asked if these were audible from my allocated room, as my booking agent had informed me of such renovations, but reassured these would be minimal from where I was placed. I was retold that these were renovations, and work would be going on during the day. I was told that parking on the grounds would be $45 per day/night (a total of $225 over my 5-night stay). Outraged, I said that was a ridiculous cost and I would not be paying that. They suggested I utilise the ‘public parking’ at Wilson carpark, $35 per day/night (a total of $175 over my 5-night stay). I was told they would look into possible ‘deals’ that would include parking, and after doing so, was told this would be an additional $100 per day/night than the rate I was already given. I said her customer service was infuriating. She laughed and said ‘no’ she was not infuriated. The duty manager then stepped in and asked if he could help. By this point I was extremely frustrated. He merely restated company policy on the carpark and suggested looking into a deal. After hearing their first suggested ‘deal’ I was unwilling to discuss this further and asked them to cancel the booking. I was reassured my booking would be refunded in full, received a $400 credit card refund, and left immediately. My partner phoned up and expressed his unhappiness at the customer service I experienced to the duty manager. He responded to my complaint about the overpriced parking, stating that 'well, the University is paying for it anyway', and proceeded to LAUGH AT my partner when he refuted this remark. I would suggest 'The University' would not be happy with this lack of respect, and outright derison. This was an appalling way of treating someone staying on a business trip, and certainly not 'devoted to more' as stated on the website. As a young Māori woman, I often experience poor customer service from those who are racist, sexist, and ageist, but was surprised to experience this at an organisation that prides itself on good customer service. This was THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced, over 15 years travelling the world. I wouldn’t bother booking with them again, and certainly not condoning their poor customer service by staying there. Dr X

We had a really great stay at the hotel. The rooms were nice, but what made the hotel stand out was the level of service. We only stayed for one night as a birthday treat without the kids. My wife let the hotel know it was my birthday and I got a nice message and chocolates from the hotel.

Cordis is the rebranded Langham Hotel, The hotel has been completely refurbished, no doubt to get ready for an influx of new competitors. Our room was comfortable as well as the bathroom. Besides both had outlets and USB ports! The rooms were not over furnished and a request for connecting rooms was granted. Food was good but if ordering al carte, a little slow in coming. While the hotel location is not in a great area nor close to the waterfront, the hotel runs a shuttle downtown at peak times ever 15 minutes and we used it several times without a hitch.
