Reviews for The Langham, Auckland
We were received with a very warm and genuine welcome. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The room was a little tired BUT it is scheduled for refurbishment. Customer experience/satisfaction is clearly the top priority at The Langham and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Room service breakfast was top class and very good value for money

Langham invited me to review so here it is: When my reservation confirmation mentioned renovation works I emailed my concerns, the purpose of my stay being an early birthday present to myself to destress and chill, and was told, no problem, I'd be put in a quiet room away from the works. On arrival, we were told the works would stop at 5 pm. (I appreciated being forewarned - we could have cancelled - and to be given a cut-off time, although we were told the work was M-F yet it started again Saturday morning). As we stepped into our room, the first thing we heard was drilling and banging, so we went out for the afternoon, fine for us we'd only come a km or so, but if you've arrived off a long haul flight and need to sleep, it will be a problem. We eat lunch here sometimes, but I am glad we didn't make a special visit for the breakfast, which was average - I've had better and worse. Everything bar the omelette was barely lukewarm, the rice soft and mushy, the bread dry, eggs poached hard, waffles a bit soft and bendy. The omette was nice, as were the mushrooms. The ice cream was lovely and the cones crispy. Staff fine, always lovely in the restaurant. We'd been upgraded, though I'm not sure what to, the bathroom couldn't be any smaller. Would I stay here again? For half the price, yes. As far as I know, we paid the regular rate, not discounted, and I don't know what I would want more for the cost (a butler maybe, lunch or dinner?) but I've had far better value worldwide, even in London and Paris. Cost v expectations not equal.

With lush surroundings and attentive staff the Langham gave a 5 star patina to our celebrations. There is a free shuttle to downtown but we enjoyed our time around historic K Rd, Symonds st & Upper Queen St where you get a flavour of the true nature and history of Auckland City. Staying at The Langham is staying somewhere special and as Aucklanders w chose this hotel in a particular for a special birthday celebration. We were not disappointed.

I enjoyed the spa and swimming pool. The location was good, you can walk on foot to the downtown. room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast also very good. they serve you coffee and tea in a pot, so you can drink as much as you can.
