Great to visit for lunch after working here over 50 years ago. We had a light lunch in the bar which was efficiently served and good food. It has changed a lot since I was there. rebuilt after a fire. It is modern, comfortable and has a nice ambience.

I've visited the Ripplecove hotel with my girlfriend for two nights with breakfast and one dinner included. The room and restaurant were very nice. However, two things I really frown upon. Firstly, we ordered room service and asked for dinner and two glasses of red wine. What was delivered to us was a different wine than we asked for, because the requested wine apparently was out of stock. I think it's not chique they didn't confer with us beforehand, as we specifically ordered this one, but more importantly, because the wine they gave us was more expensive and added full-price to our bill. Secondly: we booked two nights with breakfast included. The first morning, we were presented a very basic breakfast (which was fine). The second day however, we were presented a much more impressive breakfast menu (also included), which wasn't presented to us the first day, "because the chef had his free day that day". No discount was given. I find this to be very disappointing, considering the hotel's prices and quality measures.

This is on a beautiful site and lake views. The weather while we were there was great and the autumn colours were spectacular. We were able to take short walks around it. The restaurant is very good. Our one negative comment would be the access to the lobby from the parking lot. It involves stairs when it appears there is adequate space to have an alternate ramp style entrance. This was not particularly a problem for us, although you have to bounce your luggage down the steps or carry it, which might be problem for some people.

We weren’t up for a lengthy trip this Christmas, so looked for someplace relatively close to home (the Portland, ME area) to celebrate this year. We are so glad we discovered the Christmas Magic package at the Ripplecove Hotel, which is just 15 minutes from the Vermont border, less than a 4-hour drive from Portland. This special package included accommodations for two nights, daily full breakfast, a 4-course gourmet dinner each night, and a horse-drawn sleigh ride followed by a glass of warm mulled wine in the pub. The hotel is lovely and the setting is stunning. The food is creative, beautifully presented, and delicious (we’ve rarely had more awesome desserts, in particular). The pub was a great place to unwind, and we thought the cocktail and beer prices were reasonable. The hotel also has a spa and outdoor hot tub, but we did not try these. We enjoyed the amenities of our Deluxe room, #37. It had a balcony with a fantastic view of the lake; a small fireplace; a large marble shower; and a king-size bed. We also appreciated its location on the top floor near the end of the hall; it was totally quiet and peaceful, even though the hotel was full during our stay. The greatest asset of the inn, though, is its staff. Without exception, they were warm and friendly, and these traits were genuine. They were professional while allowing their personalities to shine through. The front desk, restaurant, bar, housekeeping, and maintenance staff all took obvious pride in their jobs and made us feel so welcome. If you are looking for the epitome of hospitality, you will find it at the Ripplecove Hotel.

Discovered this place on our way back to the US from Montreal. What a wonderful surprise! The grounds are just by a lake and are very peaceful. The view on the lake is breathtaking with the autumn colors. I was lucky enough to see a family of deers in the early morning, strolling on the hotel's property. The inside of the hotel is decorated in a very comfy style. We didn't eat at the hotel so I cannot say anything on the quality of the food. Overall a wonderful experience. My only regret was not having been able to stay longer.
