Ripplecove Lakefront Hotel in Ayer's Cliff, Canada

Skirting the waters of Lake Massawippi, on a peninsula in Quebec's Eastern Townships region, is the remarkable Ripplecove Lakefront Hotel. Opened in 1945, the resort has been expanded and renovated over the years resulting in AAA Four-Diamond Award status since 1987. Located on a 12-acre sprawl, the hotel is a captivating mix of accommodations and fine dining. The rooms are heavenly retreats filled with plush furnishings, original artwork and hardwood floors - some rooms equipped with fireplaces and private balconies. The only other place on the property to rivals the comfort of these private sanctuaries is the refined full-service spa, with its sublime selection of massages, body treatments and facials.

The resort's Victorian dining room offers lakeside dining and a menu of French and international fare. Illuminated by candlelight and the gentle sounds of live classical music provided by the resident pianist, guests are privy to a truly luxurious experience. For a more casual place to snack and imbibe, plant yourself inside Nag's Head Pub, located just steps away. The region offers an abundance of seasonal activities with ice skating and skiing in the winter, and tennis, sailing and swimming in the summer. There are a total of nine golf courses within a 20-minute drive of Ripplecove Lakefront Hotel, as well as a pair of world-class ski resorts located just a mogul-toss from hotel. The area is also rich with museums and art galleries. A thriving local wine industry is another plus, allowing you to sample vintages at the various tasting rooms found among the nearby vineyards. Visit Ripplecove Lakefront Hotel and you are sure to see why it is more than just a hotel - it is an experience.

We are here now at Ripplecove and enjoying our stay. We just had a massage for two and now in the room with wine and a view of the lake. I recommend this for some recharging of your battery, bodywise speaking. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Spend at least two days to get a real feel for the place.

Made this one of our stops on our Canadian trip and we're glad we did. We arrived early and sat outside by the lake. We enjoyed an adult beverage as we watched the Geese and their babies go by. I found myself so relaxed I almost fell asleep! Our room was ready early, which was wonderful after a long drive. We enjoyed the property as we chatted with the friendly staff.(Who speak great English!) We highly recommend Ripplecove for a wonderful relaxing getaway!

We both enjoyed our stay so much we are going back in May! Love this place to get away! So close and world of classic Canada! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great time in Quebec while being close to all the major attraction but far enough away to be away from it all!

Great to visit for lunch after working here over 50 years ago. We had a light lunch in the bar which was efficiently served and good food. It has changed a lot since I was there. rebuilt after a fire. It is modern, comfortable and has a nice ambience.

I've visited the Ripplecove hotel with my girlfriend for two nights with breakfast and one dinner included. The room and restaurant were very nice. However, two things I really frown upon. Firstly, we ordered room service and asked for dinner and two glasses of red wine. What was delivered to us was a different wine than we asked for, because the requested wine apparently was out of stock. I think it's not chique they didn't confer with us beforehand, as we specifically ordered this one, but more importantly, because the wine they gave us was more expensive and added full-price to our bill. Secondly: we booked two nights with breakfast included. The first morning, we were presented a very basic breakfast (which was fine). The second day however, we were presented a much more impressive breakfast menu (also included), which wasn't presented to us the first day, "because the chef had his free day that day". No discount was given. I find this to be very disappointing, considering the hotel's prices and quality measures.
